Open relationship is a vague term as it covers a variety of contexts. First dating is an open relationship unless one foolishly only dates one person at a time before making any type commitment to another, as until a person is willing to meet the needs of a partner there is no reason to seek fidelity. Second, human sexual behavior is complex and not all people require fidelity for a happy relationship ( Arguably most are unfaithful anyway in long term marriages at 77% for men and 57 for women) but its simpler to deny our sexuality and continue to be surprised when we find others are not faithful.Third, some folks are not able or willing to provide the specific needs of a partner and are comfortable for the open aspects ( reminds me of don't ask and don't tell which is how the military chose to handle homosexuality in years passed.

Weird the Philipeans have been friends of the USA so long... kinda sad. i am one of those not in favor of what he is doing i just hope something good will come out of it

An open relationship perhaps suggest an agreement between two people in a relationship to engage,either separately or together, with other persons outside of this relationship. So the man goes off with another woman and the woman goes off with another man, they each have their fun and return back as one couple under the same roof perhaps.I'm sure they can share their separate stories to each other without feeling bad or jealous of each other's experience. Though as I see it jealousy may set at some point.

what do you think of women who are involved in an open relationship and how do men define this kind of relationship? I don't think anything in particular about women who want to live that way, nor of men who want to. I know I can't and wont, and that's where my thinking stops.
