So strong and sturdy it thrives each day,
Loved by golfers who all love to play,
It is mowed relentlessly by those that love,
A beauty in landscapes rained on from above,

It is beautiful in sunlight, and moonlight as well,
With the glitter of stars and the heat of hell,
A common plant in abundance everywhere,
But if you notice it you will stop and stare,

As pastures bloom and cattle all graze,
This blanket of green makes you stop and gaze,
So soft and friendly is this carpet so cool,
