Beginning of the End: The ‘Un’Affordable Care Act Continues to Unravel

Health plan companies left and right are seriously questioning their involvement in Obamacare or dropping out altogether. And these are heavy hitters—UnitedHealthcare, Humana, Aetna and some Blue Cross Blue Shield companies. Cooperatives established under the law are collapsing as well. Just seven of the 23 remain. Citizens’ Council for Health Freedom (CCHF, www.cchfreedom.org) points to these occurrences as the beginning of the end—the unraveling of the Affordable Care Act. President Obama’s legacy act is in deep trouble. These departures are the “tremors” before the earthquake, the total implosion of Obamacare. Now it’s time to repeal the law and head back to health freedom.

That's what Oblowmecare was meant to end up as from the beginning!

Bozo is already talking about changes along those lines before leaving office as a "fix" to his wonderful U-ACA.

Another EO coming down the pipe?

Beginning of the End for Obamacare?

Doubt it.

Not after you get republicans and people like Trump saying "repeal and replace it.

It's simply going to become a Dr. Manhattan, a common enemy, for the two party system to fight over on how to "fix" it.

Health plan companies left and right are seriously questioning their involvement in Obamacare or dropping out altogether.

I think the main 2 reasons for this are:
- More sick than healthy people are using it. More people are paying for it and using it than paying for it and not using it, the latter of which is the only way any type of insurance works.

- The government is being tightfisted with its subsidizing, not giving the insurance companies the money they promised in case of lack of profit.

I mean "more sick than healthy people are using it" simply = "we can't repeal Obamacare! Too many poor defenseless sick people will be without their meds and have to make the choice between eating dog food or medicine before being shoved off the cliff by those pesky healthy people not paying in!"

So I would expect to see more money funneled to insurance companies as well as medicare/medicaid soon, like right before or right after the election.

Why Aetna is pulling back, big time, from Obamacare markets now

Aetna (AET)'s actions — and those of other big insurers — speak louder than nice words about Obamacare.

The decision by Aetna to bail out next year from 11 of the 15 states where it sells Obamacare plans is just the latest move by a major insurance company to pare back — sharply — its involvement in the markets for individual health plans that are a key component of the Affordable Care Act.

But it came less than a week after federal health regulators suggested that a big concern about the viability of that business wasn't justified by the actual data. Insurers have been saying Obamacare customers are, overall, less healthy than the companies need them to be so that the medical costs covered by the plans don't exceed the premiums the customers pay in each month.

ACA,engineered to fail!

I would agree with that. One of Obama's failures from the beginning, was that he failed or refused to recognize that the Republicans as a party, were blindly and completely committed to doing everything including destroying the American economy and ripping the Constitution to shreds, just to try to get revenge on the American people for having elected him.

So the ACA was designed to try to make Republicans happy, and was therefore a pre-handicapped, Romney-care-based monumental kluge.

lol... i guess all the companies that are getting out of it are republican? seems to me, just by your words alone, the repubs had it right from the beginning... otherwise, it would have worked...

but nice try on your pointless spin, but it does show the repubs are a lot smarter than the idiot libs that pushed it through anyway...
