Somewhat true, not all addictions kill, but all of them are unhealthy and everyone was one, weather or not they're willing to admit it.

Somewhat true, not all addictions kill, but all of them are unhealthy and everyone was one, weather or not they're willing to admit it. That's NOT true! I have at least 20 addictions that I'm aware of. Not just one. |

I think you will find that most people who talk about addiction have absolutely no clue what it's like to be addicted to something, be it hard drugs or anything else.
You got to get in to get out |

I think you will find that most people who talk about addiction have absolutely no clue what it's like to be addicted to something, be it hard drugs or anything else. You got to get in to get out Well, like most things there are levels to addiction. Also there are physical & mental addictions. Some people are more susceptible to addictions, aka an Addictive Personality, then others. They go from one addiction to another. Chocolate 90% pure, which I eat everyday after lunch, is only somewhat addictive. I make sure wherever I'm at I will have it with me for lunch. If I don't eat it I can't stop thinking about it until I do. Sometimes I day dream about the texture of the chocolate. I wonder if the next time I should eat it chilled or warmed up a little. It makes a huge difference. If I replace it with something else it will hold me off for about an hour. But, then I will still eat the Chocolate. I usually keep about 5 pounds in my stockpile. Will I break the law to get some more if I run out. No way! But, I will get irritable. Crack, which I have never tried and never will, is VERY addictive. I would probably like it wayyyyyyy too much and never stop. This M2 thing is starting to get addictive too. |

The only disease that convinces you that you need it while it's killing you. ..true? I am going to disagree with you... Some addictions are healthy such as... working out eating healthy loving life.. Yeppers I am addicted to loving life no matter what happens and it is a crappy day I know tomorrow will be better. I will freely admit I am addicted to Coffee... I have the whole ritual of grinding the beans. That first cup is as good as any sex will ever be.. Yes I can be distracted for a while and yet I will have my cup of coffee in the morning. Will it kill me I doubt it unless I go broke and can't afford beans to grind and I rob some store and I get shot then maybe... Some addictions are horrible they not only destroy the addict's life they destroy those around them. |

I'm addicted to blaming all my character flaws and self-indulgent time wasting on addictions.
Is that a bad thing? |
