Topic: Are Women afraid of Men with children? | |

Hi there, new poster here just curious to see if having children is a turn off for people as I seem to have little luck with dating apps especially when I mention the kids. Let me know your experience and/or opinions. Thanks.

Hi there, new poster here just curious to see if having children is a turn off for people as I seem to have little luck with dating apps especially when I mention the kids. Let me know your experience and/or opinions. Thanks. Hi Welcome to Mingle.. To answer this question... I don't think it would be anymore inhibiting being a single dad as a single mom. We all face the same trials and tribulations. We all have to be cautious on who we let around our children etc... I do see where you being separated could be a bit of an issue to some. I know I would be leery to enter into a relationship with someone separated. Did that once invested about 5 months and in the end he went back to his wife which I totally endorsed family should come first if it can be worked out. So I know for me I would really hesitate dating separated.. Good luck and best wishes. |

It takes all kinds, Some don't want to be bothered with children while others even look for men(or women)who have kids.
Single parents sometimes like to date other single parents because they know the other has "experience" dealing with young children. I for one love children and wouldn't hesitate dating a single mom. So hang in there...good things will come your way |

The separation was amicable and while we still talk. That boat has sailed and she is happily settled with a new partner. I value your opinions thankyou all.

Oh...he left that part out...being "separated" can make a big difference! I'm not sure why but you make it sound like my question has some sort of sinister undertones. I can assure you it does not. I was merely asking why it was I had found it difficult to get past initial conversations once I had mentioned my children. |

Maybe a blurb that the separation was amicable and you both have moved on would help. Maybe something to the effect of.. Yes, I am separated, I can assure you that the split is final, ready to move on and see what is out here in the world. You did ask for an opinion and well sometimes they won't agree be what you would like to hear. |

I did ask indeed and I welcome it thankyou. I'll take your advice. Much appreciated X

Hello, yes I would agree, age too plays a big part, most mature women who have had children and are now grown up and flown the nest so to speak and seem to want me time, so a man with children, more importantly, very young children, has a hard time finding a woman who is willing to try, Ferry.

Single dads who have a good relationship with their children are attractive.

What I can say do not hide your kids, they are credit to you and I also believe they are your joy. If someone has to come in your life has to accept that fact, a good caring and loving gentleman will come one day. Just be patient for a responsible prince charming.

Personally, I have not problem dating a man with children. I don't want them coming along on our first date though. LOL

I don't mind kids even though I have none of my own. But circumstances can get awkward. If you meet someone locally it wouldn't be a problem but what if it's long distance? They are hardly going to want to move away from where their kids are or if they have custody their exes are going to block that. And I don't know if I'd want to risk crossing the ocean for love and then finding out his kids are from hell
