someone shoot me please.. my daughter decided she needed sugar in cereal. instead of asking to get it she proceeds to get sugar out of closet.. 10 pounds are in the container.. she drops it.. breaks container(plastic one) and wastes 8 pounds of it all over the floor

I only laugh because I have been there....sugar, milk whatever they can find it will all end up on the floor eventually!!

and now she refuses to eat the cereal because i told her no cartoons because of the mess she made

no she's not she's just asserting her independence

No that is totally normal at that age....I used to think the same thing....satans spawn

I miss 6 I wanna be 6 again

her independance is gonna give me a nervous break down..

she never minds.. she screams at me .. hits at me.. and her brothers.. no matter what i do i'm mean and she hates me.. even when i say something nice or speak to her in a calm polite manner..

wonder if they take 6 year olds in military school

I recently had a similar problem with my 8 y.o daughter...time to take control...find something she hates (mine hates the corner) Every time she hits, yells..etc give her 5 mins in the corner or w/e it is she hates....and if she whines cries yells, add more time.

Some advice I recently got for my daughter and it took less than a week and shes already behaving much better.

But ...you have to do it every time!!!

thats the problem.. i've tried everything i can think of.. standing in the corner, time out chairs, no tv, no toys, no playdates, no candy, you name it.. been going through this for nearly 2 years.. when she is with someone else she is like an angel but the minute she's at home. a little terror..


i consistantly gave each thing 2 months and none of it seemed to get anywhere with her.. i've tried ignoring bad behavior and only paying attention when she is good.. that doesnt work for her either..

i'm bout out of options
