Okay. I'm sure the non tourist traps you wouldn't want to spend quality time there. Did you do anything fun while you were there?

Dubai is a a recently developed city. It doesn't have much of a rich background or culture when compared to the cities along with which the name Dubai is taken. Sheikh Mohammed is trying too hard to make it famous worldwide. So many attempts for Guinness world records and they have won it all. It's development has been at a very fast pace.
It isn't a democracy. The press doesn't really have freedom as every news has to be accepted by the ruling family. All of the big structures seen there is a result of hardworking immigrants from mostly Southeast Asian countries. They are not even paid properly. They need whole new cities to accommodate laborers. Nobody talks about the dark side of Dubai which consists of human trafficking for prostitution, drugs (there are more than what you can imagine), liquor, nightclubs etc. Most Arabs don't do any work, they have assistants (Asians) for EVERYTHING. Without the labor force over there, they're nothing.Because of the world islands, the marine life is adversely affected. There are many things wrong with Dubai.
For people who get paid nicely, these things never matter since nothing is happening to them.
So ''freedom''loving people just cannot adjust with this city. =)

Well I'm not at all interested in the politics, I'm more interested in how you spent you free time enjoying yourself. I have a buddy that travels there often and showed me some outstanding photos of many of the activities and things he has done. So I wanted to get another viewpoint from someone else about the night life and activities.

Well I have a few tourist spots to hit, Water parks, Global Village, Abu Dhabi, Ferrari World, Camel riding, Desert safari all booked. As for night clubs, I am not sure which ones are the most recommended. My thing is, if the ladies have to be covered, how do they step out of their hotels in the tightened short dresses?

I have been told that its pretty liberal there as far as the way women should dress. Would you agree with that?
