most my family lives within 15 miles.. i have a few that live 3 hours away though..

I know how you feel Nick; I lost both my parents within 18 months of each other. The holidays have never been the same for me and we're talkin 25yrs ago. It's gotten better over the yrs. but sometimes, something is still missing.

Honestly I don't do well with holidays most especially christmas.
Its just a very emotional time for me then I lost my momma right before christmas 7 years ago and I lost my brother tight after chirstmas 14 years ago.Also I am the black sheep of the family so at the holiday gatherings its attack Jenni for her choices in life time.So yes I detest holidays |

MY DAD IS STILL AROUND BUT HAS ALZHEIMER'S
KIDS WILL BE WITH MY EX'S FAMILY PLANNING ON HAVING A TURKEY TV DINNER AND CELEBRATING MY BIRTHDAY ALONE OR MAYBE I WILL JUST VOLUNTEER TO OPEN THE CLUB WHERE I WORK ON CHRISTMAS AND SLING DRINKS AT ALL THE OTHER LONELY SOULS |

i wish i was gonna be here thankgiving morning.. but i'm the only one cooking dinner that day .. granted.. gonna do alot of it the night before.. so i might be around off and on.. i'm hoping my big sister missy can make it here then.. and christmas.. we dont do much for.. so i'll be here then ..

I'm the black sheep also -- so I prefer to stay away; it's better for me. Since I got sober 15yrs ago, my family just doesn't like it or get. Oh well -- it's their loss.

I remember my first sober Thanksgiving 15yrs. ago. There were about 20 of us new to sobriety with no where to go. So we all chipped in and cooked; had a kick ass day that first year. 15 yrs. later, I'm still sober and all those new comers went back to test the waters. Haven't seen any of them since.
