I don't know why it never was, I think we're one of the only ones (if not the only) without an official language.

You know, I doubt it would upset foreign relations, they all have a language. And even if it does, too bad! In the great grand scheme of it, it doesn't affect them at all, except maybe on a very superficial level. It does, however, affect us.

I knew WW II POW's & people from the concentration camps.
They have to be turning over in their graves. One Silver Star holder, sent it back to Nixon over the way Vietnam was being run. We need to find our Pride of country again. So much of this is BS. |

I DISAGREE, WHY IS IT THAT WHEN WE GO TO THEIR COUNTRY, WE ARE EXPECTED TO LEARN THEIR LANGUAGE, AND WHEN THEY COME HERE, WE STILL HAVE TO LEARN THEIRS????

basically our government is so used to doing what the other countries want us to do, that they are afraid to stand up for what the United States of America was built on.
We the People UNITE doesn't seem to be part of anything anymore in the USA -

The thing is, for me, I would never move to another country and expect them to accomodate me, I'd make every effort possible to learn the language and culture. I don't have anything against immigration, it's a wonderful thing in many, many ways, but I'm sick to death of going into a store or wherever and the people working don't speak any English at all. It's so frustrating. And there's very little incentive to do so.
