Give reasons why online dating is better than the process of blind dating:
1. Saves time, gas, and money. 2. You don't have to dress up-you can be in your pjs, naked, nighty, or boxers comfy.. 3. If it doesn't work out, you can talk to someone else with the click of your mouse. Zap, Poof, they're gone.. 4. Profile is better than no file...at least you get a head's up of who you're dating. 5. If all fails, at least you still have your friends on JSH!!!!!!!!! |

Yeah, that is a bummer.. but if you think about it. We're always online anyway, so does it really matter??

I actually liked it better when I met people through friends. They knew better than to fix me up with an arsonist, of which I actually DID meet one on another site....

I don't think it's better than any other type of dating. You still have to pick through the freaks and liars to find the good ones.
One bad part about online dating is that it is so easy for anyone to get online and talk about how amazing they are even when they aren't all that incredible. So basically, people online try to make themselves look and sound more cool than they really are. This includes a lot of lying and stretching of the truth which is BS. A good point is that it's convienient for busy people like me who don't have alot of time and don't go to the bars anymore. |

yes Lex but did she burn for you?

Well, you are with friends. Aren't the people here in these forums your friends online? I wonder how you ended up with THAT person???? Did you not read their profile or have a sense or did you just bypass their profile?

S1ow, her plan was for us to go to some hotel with a bunch of her friends and burn a room down. I developed a sudden appointment and had to leave....!
A few years later, she got in trouble for stealing stuff out of a store at the mall where she worked.... She actually had a lot going for her, but the whole theft-and-arson thing didn't really fit into my scheme of things.... |

You got some good points there Sincereman, but if I never came to this site or this forum, I would have never known anything about you. By the way you speak, you seem to be a very intelligent person.

When it's three in the morning and you can't sleep, you can curl up on the couch and talk to others who can't sleep.

Most bypass the profile part then u ask if they read it and the answer is no!!!! It might be good to at least skim thru it!!!

Blind dates are almost obligations. Your friend wants to fix you up, so what are you going to say?
Online dating, I still don't get the concept. |

For one, you learn more of the person personality through the whole online thing. People are less-inclined to judge on looks and what not.

when the online dating goes video chat then it will be a lot more like blind speed dating. the principal issue will still be proximity.
sure Lex, but how many of us can say that we dated or almost dated a kleptomaniacal pyrophiliac?! I tell you. You can't even get that with front row seats at the freak show!! although a friend of mine did date a nude art model who had some similar inclinations. but she wrecked his car once to often and had to go. |

Better late than sorry. A lesson learned Lex, I feel for you. What it really boils down to is the choices we make.
