My Life

What would
My life be like without
The part where
You came in?
Well...
For starters I
Think I know where
To begin
I wouldn’t see
The colors
Of the rainbow in
The sky
Nor watch
A flock of birds go south
And wave as
They go by
I’d never know
Why rain exists
Nor hear the ocean
Through the mist
And roses just
A hobby
A flower that
Needs water
When I had not
The time to bother
I’d never know
The joy in seeing
A child’s
First hello
And never see
The wonder in
The way they love me so
The house it’s
Just a place to sleep
And letters
Never meant
To keep
And every day
No one is winning
‘Cause the world
Just keeps right
On spinning
I’d never have
Received the perfect
Kiss from such a face
That fills my daydreams
And livens up the nights
Here in this place
And never know
How powerful
Is a simple hug
And mistakes were
Swept under the rug
I’d never quite
Appreciate
The spark in me
Your touch creates
When fingers drifting
Through some hair
My own
(Whats left)
Is all that’s there
I wouldn’t know
The pleasure there
Of drowning in
The gaze
Of eyes so blue
I melt
And then I ooze
Yes quite
A liquid phase
And when I lay
Me down to sleep
I share a book
With text to reap
And hope the plot is
Running deep
With but my
Interest to keep
The world is pretty
But is it art
If you and I
Had missed our part
And though it’s now
I want to start
I never had
A role
Which I so want to
Extol
But I could never
Be a better or find
A finer goal
Than to be the man
You’ve wanted
And the time apart
Has haunted
Me right to
My very soul
I love you with
My heart and hope
I never find the end
For you are the best
And last I’ll know
And always my best friend
