Topic: Weight Loss Support | |
---|---|
If there is anybody besides me and Marie out there trying to lose weight and you need support, speak up if you need help from your fellow JSH family members.
I have recently lost 17 pounds with the Alli pill, that I barely even took. If you eat the wrong foods and take the pill you end up in the potty with a very nasty pot. So what does that mean, you teach yourself to eat the right foods therefore you lose weight and your healthier to boot. What have you used/done to lose weight and is it working for you??? Do tell. Maybe you can help or encourage someone else to get healthy and get that man or woman you want. |

So the Alli pills really work?
|

Man, I really don't want to sound like an Alli advocate or spokesperson, but it worked for me. I still have the same bottle of pills I bought in July.
If you're eating right, you don't need to take it. Initially it does help, because it takes about 25% of the fat you eat out of your body before you can digest it. |

Good for you, you go girl! I had GBP surgery February 2006 and have so far, lost 160 pounds and feeling great. Still have about 50 to go though. Keep at it, whatever works!

I've lost a good amount by keeping a steady workout routine. I have more to go, but it's working for me.
Pills make me nervous. I'm not saying not to do them, but I just don't feel comfortable to. I'd love a forum on JCH! |

<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<Desperately trying to lose weight
Where can you get these pills? GNC? |
|
|
|
Good for you ireland. Are you exercising too or just dieting? |
|
|
|
You can get the pill just about anywhere. I got mine for Walmart.
These pill do not affect you nervous system like most weight loss pills. The do not have any stimulants in them. ALL they do is take the fat out of your body before it can digest it. |

I have lost over 20 lbs in the last three months by cutting sugar out of my diet. I use a zero calorie sweetener and sip 0 calorie drinks through the day.
Many people do not realize that a couple sodas a day is the same as eating an extra meal every day. My diet: 4 cups coffee for breakfast(regular creamer & 0 cal sweetener) Normal lunch several times a week(I skip the rest) Normal dinner(every day) Snack before bedtime(150 calorie max) I also try to walk several miles a week at the park, it does help but the biggest change for me was from eliminating the sugar. I know this because I have been exercising regularly for over a year with no weight change at all. I estimate that I am cutting over 500 calories a day by eliminating sugar from my diet.......oh and I only eat garbage(aka fast food) once a month. |

I took off 35 ugly pounds in about 2.5 months by cycling 250 miles/week and eating whatever I wanted, and a lot I really didn't want but sorely needed (keeping it under 3000 calories/day). Oh yeah, I abstained from beer during this period (the hard part -- and a potentially huge caloric source).

Thanks Angie! This topic is great! Angie spoke of Alli in one post a while back and I emailed her..she is so great for support if any of you out there need encouragement, she is the one..I will add that with Alli, you do get cleansed out, which for me was something that I needed, and you have to take a multi-vitamin at night to replace what is lost when you get cleansed, I don't use my pills all the time either, but with 4 other people in the house it was very hard for me to lose weight and Alli has helped me "think before I eat"!!! I will welcome any emails anyone wants to send..I started last Thursday and have already lost 7lbs...and back on the treadmill and feeling a whole lot less depressed than before!

in my life i've done everything to lose weight, from diet pills to eating disorders to just plain ole healthy eating! diet pills didnt work and just made me feel ill, eating disorders...well i don't need to tell you how unhealthy that is! and although it might have worked in the short term, i was miserable and very unhealthy, mentally and physically! the best way, i've found to lose weight, and i've kept it off, is to follow a vegan diet. although i haven't been a vegan for a few months now, i still haven't put the weight back on, though i've been very strict with calories and watching what i eat and being more active.
i've decided to go back on the vegan diet to lose another 14lbs. although i'm at an "ideal" weight now, its not MY ideal, and i would like to be a little slimmer. i've lost nearly 6stone (14lbs in a stone) altogether, and it is NOT easy at all...although it gets easier once you get used to eating a new way. good luck to everyone who wants to lose weight!!! its possible with some hard work and determination! |

It really does all boil down to watching what you eat but for me with kids in the house and 2 older ladies that love their cakes, temptation is everywhere and I get no support whatsoever from anyone in the house..if it wasn't for God sent Angie, I would still be feeling depressed and lack of energy...to each his own..I wish I could do it without the aide of a pill, but for now it is helping me and I have already learned to choose better but it is there for me on those tough moments...I also suffer from hypothyroidism..basically all I have to do is look at food and I gain, so I am on the highest dosage of meds for that and this past week I have had so much energy..unbelievable!
Walk, walk, and walk...you must do some sort of exercise or your fat will just hang on you..walking is the easiest..once you feel a bit better move on to more exercises you can do! |

I found a book, "The Genetic Key Diet" by Dr. Steve Nugent.
Taught me things I had never heard before, shared it with some friends, that are nurses, & now they have their own copy. I have lost 25lbs. in 3 months & still sowly losing. It is a diet change, but best explanation of what & why I have ever seen. Plus MAKES SENSE. Want to know where to get it, mail me. |

I lost 33 pounds since mid september
no pills...just hard core cardio! I run on my eliptical 1 hour a day, do yoga in the morning, and 30 mins of cross training everyday I dont eat butter or any other saturated fat, trans fat. I dont drink pop, no "junk" food Just all organic, high fiber high protein...low fat, low sodium foods I have a TON of great tasty recipes if you would like some! My advice: 1. Eat breakfast everyday! 2. Drink 80 oz of water a day 3. have unsweatened green, white, red, or black tea (all natural) instead of pop 4. Do a minimum of 30 mins of aerobic excersize a day! 5. Do NOT eat processed foods, non-perishiable foods have harmfull preservatives that make you feel like crap 6. Get atleast 8 hours of sleep a night! |
