Has anyone ever done this.
I've seen them doing classes loads of times in the gym (gym yoga I was told this version is called)but I always thought of it as more of a woman's thing even though sometimes there's quite a few men in there. So tonight I bit the bullet and joined in, I always thought it looked easy. WTF, it's the hardest thing I've done for years It was just all balancing, stretching and breathing but holly macaroni I'm not sure I'll be going in there again |

From what I've heard, it gets easier. Don't push yourself at the beginning. lol
I know people that do yoga to help with their anxieties. Other people have lost weight with it. It's really good for the body. It tones the muscles and strengthens the core. |

I only went in to see what all the fuss was about, and came out like I'd just done 12 rounds with Mike Tyson. |

I would like to get back into yoga myself, I even have some dvd's - but where has my motivation gone? |

The health benefits alone are more than worth it... If you cannot find inspiration to get into the groove... Remember being flexible is a VERY GOOD THING... Understand? *headtilt* *blinkblink* |

My son teaches it as well as owns a yoga studio. It can be just a way to exercise or if you are all in, a way of life. Either way, it's amazing to strengthen you body and stretch yourself.
Maybe some day I will do it. lol |

To my mind and experience yoga is the best way to keep yourself healthy (both mind and body), young and beautiful :)))
When you just start attending classes it's better do not compare ypurself with anybody but watch your breathing and feelings in the body and let all that endless dialogs inside your mind to leave you. Just keep doing yoga and you'll feels the results soon! |

Yes, Yoga is hard, but not all of them. Some extreme Yoga(google them) is really hard. Some needs guts to do them and years of practice. What the benefits of Yoga? Well you can simply google it. But the problem is most people can't do it properly. Before doing any classical Yoga, know them well before you going to do. I have a friend in Atlanta who is used to be a Yoga teacher(hot Yoga). He told me once, they used to do them in a room where temperature is artificially increased. Maybe they do it in that room for warming up, I'm not sure. In my opinion, there is some western form/versions of Yoga. If anyone want to learn Yoga properly they eventually have to do raw one. Yoga is the heritage of India (actually Hindu's), and we gave our heritage for welfare of mankind. Well, do it as you can... but with the proper guidance or teacher. Better don't follow you tube, because breath control is directly related to Yoga. If you breathe wrong way, it can cause you internal damage. Be safe. I did Yoga almost regularly long ago, still doing 3/4 of them inconsistently in gym or home and Pranayama.

Yes, Bikram yoga (hot yoga) isn't for everybody. As for me I would never try but I know people who like it. This kind of yoga was invented by the Hindu man who came to the USA to introduce it.People are different so there're many different kinds of yoga. I do classical Ptanjali yoga. Breathing in the right way helps to controle the mind as the main aim of all kinds of yoga is to carm the mind in order to see the soul (atma) and feel connection with the Main Soul (Paramaatma).
