Topic: People who write then disappear

This has happened to me a few times. A man writes to me and it looks like a good letter. It seems sincere and shows that he read my profile. There are pictures, so I decide to respond, and I think I am kind of quick but when I write back, his account is deactivated. Why do people write to me, then deactivate their account?" I sometimes respond within 10 minutes. I guess that is not fast enough.

My guess would be that these messages are coming from spam profiles that get shut down before you can reply. I've had that happen a few times.

can the people deactivate their profiles themselves and activate again later?

I know the feeling.. i have not subscribed to this site It is suppose to be free. I have contacted a person and she never has replied.. or at least if she did I never received any of the messages.. Could that be because you have to pay for receiving messages. Or maybe she might not be interested..Who knows.. either way it could be my loss or hers. May have to pay for a subscription to find out.. What do you think?

Butribu, yes members can deactivate their profiles and reactivate them.

And snowbird, you should be able to read every message for free. I know I can if I get any. Upgrading will add some features like being able to have stealth mode.

I miss free stealth mode.

Wow, Cat! You reply within 10 minutes? That's awesome of you. Maybe you surprised da heck out of the guys... they got skeered... or they dropped dead. Yeah, that must be it.

Next time, give them at least 15 minutes. bigsmile flowerforyou

Those of us who have been on line for years know the scammers and report them when they pop up. Some of them come back over and over.

Yep I figured so... but new to these kind of sites, never know what kind of scams could be out there. Well seems like we may have had quite a bit in common, besides she was very cute. but no answer back from her. So figured she must get quite a few messages to sort through. Well maybe she will answer back. if not I wish her well. @---)--

Yeah I consider those the copy and paste pro's.
I do two things when I receive email from someone I don't know
I right click photo and scan it...
I then click their profile and that usually tells me a lot.

When I was single it was like Next....

Maybe the person is just seeing what is out there.. and doesn't want his girlfriend or wife finding out so he deactivates his account.

What do you mean "scan it"? I've never seen that option on the cascade menu.

I empathise with you cantinidaho . I think many of us have experienced what you describe to varying degrees. When you ve spent enough time in the chatworld , u have to develop a really thick skin and understand that the people here that pursue you are generally pursuing several other people at the same time. That is thenature of the chatroom world. And depending on what the pursuer is looking for, he may deem other targets as better candidates to get money or cyber sex from if that is his goal, or he might just decide he has more physical or emotional chemistry with his other targets. Because you are one of MANY targets, try to understand that it is nothing personal. It just has to do with people's preferences, and the chatroom world is wired to have u competing with dozens of other people for someones attention . And the chatroom attention span often resembles that of a schizophrenic monkey. :)Try not to wait around on anyone. Interact with as many people as you can and only give special attention to the ones who demonstrate consistency in in their attention towards you. Drop the ones that fail that test like a hot potato and view their magical disappearances as a blessed assistance in weeding out losers. Good luck to you!

You can do a reverse image lookup to see if the photo is elsewhere on the internet.

Tineye.com is popular site for this.
