I didn't find love on the first site I tried so that is why I am on this site...Oh wait...Think I read the topic wrong

I think it's possible but I don't act on it anymore.

Many feel love at first site is possible but more believe it is wise not to act on first impression but wait for the facts to prove themselves out.

There is no such thing as love at first sight. It may be strong "attraction" at first sight.

If love is blind, then how can there be any love at first sight?

Nah until it happens to you then you will not believe it but I knew with in about a minute that I loved my late husband. And he did not even fit my physical markers for attraction but it was like this revelation that was clear as a bell.

I was careful and did my due diligence, especially as a mother and for my parents sake but yes even for my own. You have to love yourself to do that or you are going to ness your life up.

And yes if he had not measured up I know I would have suffered over losing that love but I would have done it.

I don't believe when people say they had love at first sight. Maybe it turned into that, but it was really attraction.

Real love takes time to develop.

IMO not really.
People just have an overinflated sense of what they actually control.

Children think the path to love is "getting to know someone."
In reality that is simply what is used as an excuse or justification to allow love to develop.

People fall in love at first sight all the time.
Love is not something anyone has conscious control over.
You can't make yourself fall in love, you can only keep yourself from doing it. People develop feelings of love naturally as breathing. It happens even when you don't pay attention to it.

They just don't acknowledge it.

They'd rather feel they were independent and self sufficient creatures with absolute control over everything.
No different than "I'm a big boy/girl now, mommy! I can dress myself, tie my shoes, and I get to choose who I fall in love with!"

So, they think they don't fall in love at first sight, instead they fall in love at first sight but then just rationalize it away and let it influence them indirectly so they never have to face they can't control their inner nature.
Or they just run away from it and choose people as a means to prove they have the control, which usually ends in failure.

Love at first sight is not lost, people just refuse to see it and want to believe their egos are more powerful than their biology.


Attraction is a stage in the development of romantic love.
You cannot develop (non delusional) romantic love without attraction.
Even the most minor of attraction means you have the capability of romantically loving someone.
The rest is just you deciding whether or not to let that love develop.
And that's based on socialized BS.

Love at first bite ,more like it but thats me. Lust at first sight, this is possible, been there done that. So I guess love at first sight is still in the books for me... Yipee!!

i think it is all these poets, artists and philosophers all that kind of people who make this bogus concept "love at first site". its not real not at all.
