Topic: Swallowing Stones | |
---|---|
Grand father Moon I cry out to you.
I draw in your icy breath; and, My lungs ache, Like my heart. Where is your promise? I stand here; At your appointed place. Listening to the silence of the night. Sister stars sparkle in your velvet sky. I can not judge their worthiness. But I think; Have I not earned my spot? Brother water laps against the shores. Alive with nourishing fish. But my stomach tears with hunger. My hair is turning silver waiting. I hear Mother earth calling my name, I wonder if she will enfold me first, Warm and sweet. Is it time to swallow stones? Or will you find another aching heart. Lead him to me, Whispering the sweet song, Of promised love. It has been many seasons, I am waiting for you, To paint the sky. With love. To warm my wilting heart, Quench my parched lips, With moist kisses. And surround me with strong arms. Where is the cotton wood bed, You promised for my golden years? Happy generations of children, Surrounding our glowing hearts. The pebbles are in my fingers, So smooth washed with tears. I hold one in my mouth, Staving off the thirst. |

PS...well if that happens, please let us know. I don't know if they let you do that. LOL don't want to get in hot water for spam/advertising. I guess I can post another of the poems as I go along. So far I have not figured out how to really get the original art to post. I am still trying to figure out the fine print on the contract. I don't want to have to get permission to republish my own stuff. |
