Yup...losing someone you love has a way with making holidays less than what they should be...seems more people I love are
"In a better place"...but until I am with them I try to focus on the silly little things to keep smiling ...some great memories...and the light in a child's eyes...even the worst days can improve with just a thought... ![]() |

True losing loved ones around holidays, in particularly parents or spouses does tend to rain on the parade some.
I tried to re-enter my holiday giving to my late father to some more of the frail and elderly that live around me and I am paying big time for romping around in the late night rain playing Christmas Elf. LOL I should know better. Guess I will don my Bah Humbug t-shirt and another round of Vapo Rub. Worse comes to worse I will take a spoonful of white lightening one of my old Kentucky friends gave me and nap the day away. Wish Pizza Hut delivered chicken soup. ![]() |

Maria,
My mother was born on Dec 22 and died on Dec 23, 1987. My father was born on New Years Day and died on Jan 2, 1989, mostly of heartbreak from losing my mother. The holiday season used to make me cry to myself but now I feel sadness mixed with the joy I share with family and friends. Some say the time softened the pain but that isn't always the case. Kindheartlight, Lu-rosemary, Pacificstar, and others make the world we live in a better place. Their words show true kindness and grace. Live! Grow! |

The holidays are always a time to reflect and miss those who are gone, wishing they where there to share in the celebration.Your mother would be proud of you and I am sure she is smiling from above at you. The torch has been passed and now its your turn to be Mother and grandmother, to pass on the things she taught you, I think you are up to the challenge. Merry Xmas Maria!

Hi Maria,
I was thinking exactly like Jack. He said it best. I'm sure you'll make her proud and always have. She's still there with you. Just talk to her and she'll hear you; now and forever. Much love, Tulip. |

Even a little tiny amount will burn all the way down but it sure will knock out a cold in your chest. If not it makes you not care for several hours if not the rest of the day. |

I 100% agree with parents sending love across from the next world. It is just reported too many times for me to believe otherwise. Maybe it is just a falling leaf, or a cool breeze on your cheek, or something moved but if you can calm your grief you will know when they have a hand in something.
And I think many of Mingle land folks parents must be very proud. |
