Because every profile is of a lone individual facing a giant group population called "online daters."

Everyone approaches online dating alone.
It's why some are drawn to the forums.
In lonely places people look to be part of a group.

When people are alone they are vulnerable.

When people are vulnerable they adopt defenses to cover their weaknesses.

Some women don't want to be hurt or seen as easy prey.
So they come up with defenses that imply they can hurt you.
"No players! No sex! No one night stands! You must have this, that, the other!" it all comes with an implied "or else."

Some men don't want to be seen like they can be hurt or they aren't strong.
So they come up with puffed up defenses "look at my stuff, my car, my boat, my fish, my guns, my abs, I got it going on, I got good stuff, I'm a catch, I don't care if you reject me, doesn't hurt me, you can't hurt me, I got all this stuff going for me."

So, some women are going to appear to have "horns" to imply they can hurt you if you try to hurt them. To appear less vulnerable than they are.



Profiles are mostly just the tip of the iceberg of their social facade.
Has very little to do with their actual personality.

The only things you should ever determine from an online dating profile are:
1. Am I in any way attracted to this person, am I drawn in the slightest way to continue talking to them.
2. Can we spend an hour together in person enjoying something mutual, to see if we want to continue dating, if that minimal attraction is really there.

Everything else is fantasy and will fail.
If you try to build a relationship online, it's going to fail.
All you get is facade until you meet and they can't control every aspect of information you get from them, where they have to interact in a dynamic environment they can't control or build defenses or "horns" against everything at all times.

well i think i should agree with you @ciretom but is'nt it that a gal or a boy on dating site means they are in search of partners did'nt they should be a more welcoming or accomodative
