i have seen older people then me act less mature then i was at 14 The difference is, usually, the 14 year old doesn't know how to act like anything but a 14 year old. The 30, 40, 50, 60 year old acting like a 14 year old usually does, but either doesn't want to, or is just scared to. |

I never thought it did matter. But, now that I'm finding out so much about him. And Our differences. We can't make it. I gave & gave and fought so hard. Damn. Well "AllYouWillEverNeed", I'm sorry to hear that. I can really understand where you're coming from (as several others on here probably can as well), it's honestly heartbreaking (as well as really discouraging) to come to that realization after pouring your heart & soul into trying to make it work for so long. Sending <<<HUGS>>> your way.  my point is just because it is new and bright and shiny in store does not mean it will keep its' sparkle over time it's kind of like vacation it's great once or twice a year but if ya stayed there ..doing same stuff over and over it would lose half it's charm and just become your life Absolutely - it's a perverse trait of human nature that even the "awesome" stuff that happens to us (winning the PowerBall or whatever) is quickly adapted to, & becomes "the new normal". I suspect that that's one of the things that can make a marriage go "blah" as well, if that's not guarded against.

Going out with someone considerably younger feels too much like getting one of those little lap dogs. They are all cute and trendy and everyone wants to tell you how it looks like so much fun but the reality is they are just yappy and pee on the slippers when you get tired of paying attention to them running in circles. You can't have a real conversation about anything that they haven't experienced. And it gets really tiring to have them yanking the chain because you don't want to run to keep up. And they sure can't be anything but one more responsibility when it gets right down to it. Usually with a whole lot of whimpering and or howling and running off all your friends and peeving the neighbors.
OP sorry you got yourself used and abused but maybe learning the hard way if a relationship is that much work, all it is the other person take/take/take, it is probably not what you need or want and it is better to get out early or not get into it at all. |
