I hear a couple of states are making the drivers drive double and triple trailers now because of the diesel prices, won't let them drive just a single trailer anymore. That is scary, triple trailer rigs on the freeways. Good luck Thumper, hope it works out for you guys.

I have a friend who was driving in Virginia and Tenn. and the company he worked for is demanding that, he quit because of it. Refuse to let their drivers do a single anymore, apparently the cost of the fuel. He said it wasn't worth killing himself or anyone else over, I have to agree with him. That would scare the heck out of me, I wouldn't even want to meet one on the freeway.

I used to pull doubles for American Freightways, it was not big deal. Not triples, that is another story entirely. They are not even allowed on most roads except toll roads. I don't really like the double 48 footers I see on the toll roads either. Must be hard to hook up! It was hard enough trying to roll a single dolly on level ground. I can't imagine a tandem dolly!

 They were doin triples back when I was on the road with my husband.. SCARY!!! There was even RVs pulling 2 like a boat hooked to a car hooked to the RV!!! YIKES!!!! You got Gramps out there that's scary now adays in a Car & he's got all that going on!!! Trucking companies like Yellow frght. Roadrunner. White, Overnight, all those did triples out on the open Interstate & toll roads.. Unleaded was $2.99 wedsday here... |

I used to drive ore trucks here in UTah , you know the dump with a pup, (trailer) on back? I pulled a triple train one time, but I would NEVER do it agan! Way too dangerous! two pups are way too squirrely! I never got more than 50 miles out of town. My dream was always to haul OTR tho!
