Seven U.S. states shut doors to Syrian refugees after Paris attack Five U.S. governors on Monday said they would not allow Syrian refugees to be settled in their states, joining Alabama and Michigan and contending it is too dangerous to let in people from that war-torn country following Friday's deadly Paris attacks. Republican Governors Greg Abbott of Texas, Asa Hutchinson of Arkansas, Mike Pence of Indiana, Bobby Jindal of Louisiana and Phil Bryant of Mississippi said their states would no longer help support the Obama administration's goal of accepting 10,000 Syrian refugees in the coming years. "Texas cannot participate in any program that will result in Syrian refugees - any one of whom could be connected to terrorism - being resettled in Texas," Abbott said in an open letter to U.S. President Barack Obama on Monday. "Neither you nor any federal official can guarantee that Syrian refugees will not be part of any terroristic activity." However, it was unclear what authority governors had to stop admitting refugees into their states, legal experts said. "The federal government has the power over immigration. If they admit Syrian refugees, they're here," said Deborah Anker, a professor of law at Harvard Law School who specializes in immigration issues. "People aren't going to the (state) border. The federal government is going to bring them in." The decisions to stop accepting refugees from Syria came three days after gunmen and suicide bombers believed to be part of the Islamic State militant group killed 129 people in a series of coordinated attacks in Paris, the worst such event in France since World War Two. A Syrian passport found near the body of one of the attackers showed that its holder passed through Greece in October, raising concern that the attackers had entered Europe amid the wave of refugees fleeing that country's four-year civil war. The United States admitted 1,682 Syrian refugees in the federal fiscal year that ended Sept. 30, a sharp jump from the 105 admitted a year earlier. Texas, California and Michigan accepted the largest number of people fleeing the war. Secretary of State John Kerry in September said the United States would increase the number of refugees it takes in from all nations by 15,000 per year over the next two years, bringing the total to 100,000 a year by 2017. I am disappointed that Nevada's Governor is not joining in. He said on the news that they will just back ground check them better. WTF! |

The States refusing to take the Syrians has more than doubled. Obama may not win on this one.

Oooh I know. The rest of the world doesn't understand how our system works (or should work), which each state being a separate entity. So if anything is put through or changed the world thinks that is what the American people want or that is how the American people think or believe. |

I am so confused now. So many articles claiming a different amount, some say they have the right, some say they don't. Some say, that states are refusing no matter what.
Some are Arab owned & screaming Islamicphobia (well they can take them & pay for it ), some are main stream alphabet media (CNN & BBC...) & slamming Republican Governors. --------------------------------------------------- The Latest Here's a map of every state refusing to accept Syrian refugees Updated by Sarah Frostenson on November 16, 2015, 7:49 p.m. ET @sfrostenson sarah.frostenson@vox.com In the wake of Friday's deadly terrorist attacks in Paris, more than twenty US governors have said they won't allow Syrian refugees to resettle in their state. As of Monday afternoon, 23 governors had issued statements saying they would bar Syrian refugees from settling in their states, citing fears that violent extremists will masquerade as refugees in order to gain entry to the United States. Legally, these proclamations have little effect; states don't have the authority to bar refugees from settling within their borders. But that hasn't stopped governors from issuing statements. The growing list of states that will not accept Syrian refugees currently includes Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Wisconsin. Twenty-two of those states are led by Republican governors. Just one, New Hampshire, has a Democratic governor, Maggie Hassan. "There may be those who will try to take advantage of the generosity of our country and the ability to move freely within our borders through this federal resettlement program, and we must ensure we are doing all we can to safeguard the security of Americans," Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker said in a statement on the issue. Many Republicans issued their proclamations over Twitter: Republican presidential candidates Ted Cruz and Jeb Bush have not gone as far as to call for the outright ban of Syrian refugees but have instead suggested that the US should limit refugee admissions to Christians (who make up about 10 percent of Syria's population). Only ten governors — all Democrats, except for Governor Gary Herbert of Utah — have issued statements at this time in support of the resettlement of Syrian refugees. http://www.vox.com/2015/11/16/9746456/map-syrian-refugees-governors/ Map will be continuously updated |

25 States Say "No" to Syrian Refugees and ISIS
California still open for business November 16, 2015 Daniel Greenfield http://www.frontpagemag.com/point/260815/25-states-say-no-syrian-refugees-and-isis-daniel-greenfield While Obama is doubling down on his plan to bring tens of thousands of Syrians to America, many of them with military training and a fanatical hatred of America, more states are taking a stand against these fake refugees and ISIS. Wisconsin, Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia, Maine, Texas, Arizona, Michigan, Arkansas, Indiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, Idaho, Nebraska, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Florida, Illinois, Oklahoma, New Mexico, New Jersey, Ohio, South Carolina and Kansas have all come out against dumping Syrian migrants into their states. (It is important to note that these Syrian "refugees" are coming out of countries like Jordan or Turkey where there is no war. That makes them economic migrants, not refugees. They cease to be refugees once they move beyond Jordan or Turkey to a wealthier country for economic reasons.) The strength of their positions varies from state to state. Some are merely calling for extended reviews like Democrat Maggie Hassan in New Hampshire. Others are serious. http://azgovernor.gov/governor/news/2015/11/statement-governor-doug-ducey http://gov.louisiana.gov/index.cfm?md=newsroom&tmp=detail&articleID=5179 Jindal's Executive Order. read on. |

More every day are saying "NO!"... but of course Oblowme is out of the country telling the world how the USA will take 10,000 or more... ignoring "the people" and their concerns as usual. He'll probably say he wasn't aware until "I saw it on the news..." Just shows how much he actually listens to the peoples representatives, his advisors (other than Soros), or cares about their views or concerns. But what's new about that? |

Watched an interview on CNN about an hour ago with Richard Branson of Virgin.
He was prattling on about how it would be wrong to deny Syrians entry into the U.S. because it's what ISIS wants us to do. He then became a shining example of money not being able to buy class or intelligence. He said that America had treated Jews so well during the war (WW2) and that it should treat Syrians just as well. Apparently Mr. Branson never learned about the S.S. St.Louis in school. This was a luxury cruise ship that left Germany in 1939 with 900 Jews on board. Fleeing Nazi oppression, they had secured visas to enter Cuba in hopes of then emigrating to the U.S. Upon arrival in Havana the ship was denied entry. The Cuban government feared a flood of European refugees should word get out it would accept people. Only a few of the issued visas were honored, and after a week of pleading with the Cuban government, the captain finally left Cuba. Asking other countries in the Caribbean to accept the refugees, all requests were denied. The captain then set sail for America. U.S. officials refused the ship permission to dock, and with a personal appeal directly to President Roosevelt, the ship was denied access to a U.S. port as well. Along the way back to Europe, Canada also declined giving the ship a safe port of call, and the captain told the passengers he would run the ship aground off the U.K. and would not allow them to go back to Germany to face the Nazis. This fear was so real that one passenger gave up hope, slit his wrists on deck and jumped overboard. At the last moment Belgium, France, Holland, and England agreed to split up the passengers amongst them. They did however force a Jewish relief agency to post a bond equal to almost $9 million dollars in todays money to handle the processing of the refugees. In the end however 3 of the countries fell to the Nazis and more than 250 of the passengers perished in the death camps. It was a black eye for the Western world, and evidently something that billionaires shouldn't attempt to lecture others about. Sir Richard? You sounded like a major prat. |

Ok, here's how we vet them. Meet each plane load with a bunch of Pickled Pigs Feet. Those that eat them, allowed in, those that don't get back on the plane.

Obama is a pretentious azz....
"" President Barack Obama is taking an even harsher tone against governors and lawmakers who want to stop the U.S. resettlement of Syrian refugees, blasting them for being "scared of widows and orphans" while playing into the hands of the Islamic State terrorist group. "We are not well served when, in response to a terrorist attack, we descend into fear and panic. We don't make good decisions if its based on hysteria or an exaggeration of risks," Obama said while visiting the Philippines for an economic summit. "I cannot think of a more potent recruitment tool for ISIL than some of the rhetoric that's been coming out of here during the course of this debate.""' http://www.politico.com/story/2015/11/barack-obama-refugees-216007 These savages dont need rhetoric to get motivated. Their dream is to slaughter Americans regardless of what any American says. Maybe this big eared clown needs to remember what happened last Friday....but hey, lets just let possible attackers in for the hell of it. |
