Lebanon 'charges Saudi prince over record drug bust.
Beirut (AFP) - Lebanese authorities on Monday charged a Saudi prince and nine others with drug trafficking, a week after they were caught in a record drug bust, a judicial source told AFP. Saudi prince Abdel Mohsen Bin Walid Bin Abdulaziz and four others were detained by airport security on October 26 after nearly two tons of Captagon capsules and cocaine were found waiting to be loaded onto their private plane at Beirut airport. A public prosecutor "has charged 10 people, including five arrested individuals -- a Saudi prince and Saudi nationals... with smuggling and selling the drug Captagon," the judicial source said. Five individuals still at large were included in the charges, including three Lebanese and two Saudi nationals, the source added. Captagon is the brand name for the amphetamine phenethylline, a synthetic stimulant. The banned drug is consumed mainly in the Middle East and has reportedly been widely used by fighters in Syria. According to the judicial source, the case has been transferred to an investigative judge. The drug bust was "the largest one that has been foiled through the Beirut International Airport," a security source told AFP last week on condition of anonymity. Saudi Arabia's large royal family has had past run-ins with authorities in various countries. In September, a Saudi prince was arrested in Los Angeles for allegedly trying to force a woman to perform oral sex on him at a Beverly Hills mansion. But authorities decided not to pursue the charge, citing a lack of evidence. In 2013, a Saudi princess was accused in Los Angeles of enslaving a Kenyan woman as a housemaid, but the charges were also eventually dropped. He'll buy his way out of trouble. It happened last month in California. A Saudi Prince Raped and brutally assaulted a woman and charges were dropped by key Obama ally Jackie Lacey who was the underdog in her election and not expected to win until Obama and his Campaign and Fundraising team stepped in. |

The Sauds, have diplomatic immunity in the U.S..
Not sure if diplomatic immunity will hold any water in Lebanon. Depending on how badly he must have offended the Lebanese, to even get arrested in the first place. A "bribe", may not be enough to dissuade the local mullahs, from condemning him to death. |

The Sauds, have diplomatic immunity in the U.S..
Not all of them. A least one large family left Beverly Hills, after a few were aressted (sexual assault & drugging women & battery & many traffic violations), & given court dates. Apparently they assumed they had immunity. * Everybody ...There are approx. 3 other threads on Saudi Royals & crimes in California & New York. One prince was arrested continuously beginning at 19 years old to 30 something, in 2 states. That nightmare left..by private plane. He was looking at about 15 yrs in jail, for crimes against American women & legal residents ( that he employed & held captive in his compound )* |

I can recall situations in NYC where a Arab " diplomat" was caught doing something.. usually involved drugs or woman.. that he wasn't supposed to be doing. A crime that would land a normal person behind bars
but in every case it was either diplomatic immunity or at worse case he was " recalled" to his country... never held accountable. |
