Believe me when I tell you I am NOT a big baseball fan, BUT, Steinbrenner...should kick his ASS to the curb!!!!!

Did they fire him? I haven't seen the news yet.

Too bad. In a sport filled with whiny prima-donnas(mainly playing for the Yankeeslaugh ), Torre was indeed a class act and a true credit to not only baseball, but sports in general.

Joe has decided not to come back. He left a 1-year deal on the table.

People may hate the Yanks, but Joe Torre is one of the best. A true players manager that could actually get the job done.

I hate the yankees but always have and will respect Joe Torre I hope him the best in whatever he does now. He was always a class act. Steinbrenner's an asshole for doing what he did, saying Torre's gone then trying to get him back. Maybe if you showed the man some respect he'd be coming back.

Joe shouldn't have any trouble getting another managing job, assuming he wants one. He's a tremendously smart guy, knows the game as well as anyone, and lets his players do their jobs.

My suggestion would be for him to hang around Cincinnati for awhile. Baker will be out of there once the Reds pitchers' arms start falling off.
