i'll remember that the very next time i ask my 16yo granddaughter to
clean her room up and if she doesn't comply, i'll call the cops and have
them teach her a valuable lesson in complying with my authority......DUH..

Well, grandparent as you see fit. I'm sure the cops will be happy to help.

Be aware though that they will likely call your local child protective services department, say you have a problem grandchild that required them to attend your home, and you and her parents will likely be butt deep in social workers for 2-3 years.

That's how the system works now.

Hope that works out for ya.

not only do you lack an ability to effectively deal with teenage children...
i don't think you have a clue as to what sarcasm is, either...

A little off topic but an interesting tidbit about Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott...

"" Lott has been in trouble with the federal
government before. Earlier this year, WISTV
reported that Lott had traded two planes from
the sheriff’s department that technically
belonged to the federal government, causing
the entire Richland County Sheriff’s
Department to be suspended from a military
surplus program. The department might lose
millions of dollars because of the mistake. The
program involves the U.S. Defense Department
loaning out surplus military equipment to law
enforcement agencies. In 2013, the
Department of Defense loaned two C-23
Sherpa aircrafts to the department. The C-23s
can fly at higher altitudes and for longer
distances than helicopters. After receiving
them, Lott traded them with Win Win Aviation
for a Cessna Stationair, saying the Cessna was
better for drug surveillance missions and
interdiction. The problem, WISTV reported, was
that Lott didn’t actually own the C-23s so they
weren’t his to trade in the first place. Win Win
sued when asked to return the plans, saying it
made more than a million in modifications and
has contracts in place for their use. The whole
thing may be settled out of court."'

I'm pretty sure the school already has a "no phone" policy in place. What school doesn't?

Excessive? perhaps a little?... In my school days, we got tossed around while still seated in those desks all the time, I'm shocked it was a cop and not a pizzed off teacher who did it lol

Start em young I say, If a cop says stand up, ya better as hell do as he says or else.
I've been labelled a liberal on here so I better not say to much to jeopardize this smokin

Her lawyer now claims injuries, now THAT'S teaching the young ones the American way! high school drop out cashing in the millions

in cased you missed it, all the videos were from other kids cell phones in the class, and the whole thing started by her texting in the first place... so i'm just guessing here, but i don't think there is a no cell phone policy in place there...

So why was she asked to stop texting if phones are allowed? lol slaphead

Maybe they set this situation up? spock

And how many kids will now have their phones out, across the country tomorrow.. In some juvenile protest

And be totally convinced a black girl was attacked by a cop for texting ! Instead of the entire truth, including her ignoring 3 authority figures & resiting arrest.

OMG slaphead

regardless, it's no reason to treat a child that way... maybe the school should implement a no phone policy while school is in session, that would stop that at least...

I agree with this. The word being child. I don't know what colour has to do with it either.

I agree the cop was too aggressive & acted out of anger or frustration. And he should not have.

And here in the USA, 'colour' as you call it, has every thing to do with it, mostly, IMO, because of the media & black movement groups.
The backlash from all his began immediately with the students. With one black boy giving an interview to a TV host from the (very liberal) show, "The Young Turks" You can find this ..So called report onYouTube.
So on social media etc.. It will blowup & spread like a disease.

You may remember the Baltimore Maryland riots, that spread from Ferguson Missouri?

Guess where I am at? Oh yea... slaphead

This is just one more thing to fuel the fire. And one more excuse for (black) people to flip cars & attack cops & torche a city. We not only had a state of emergency, we had a police state. It wasn't safe for me or any white person to even go food shopping at 10 am. I lived on crackers & bread for 4 days & listened to the screaming/ rants & watched & heard all the choppers. White people were randomly attacked in at least 8 states.. That wasn't on the BBC, as it.?
spock Of course not.

So yea, anything racial.. & any hate crime, of any kind..Or anything involving a cop. I need to know.

I was thinking...haha...anyhow... I have a lot of dislike for abusive cops...lately I have been dealing with a lot of crud with the legal system...what they should look into is if any of these abusive officers are prescribed mood altering medications...maybe they take too much or not enough and they overreact because they aren't right in the mind...just cause you're prescribed it doesn't mean it works...:wink:flowerforyou

Oh I understand sarcasm quite well. I just choose to ignore it.

In regards to raising teenagers? I'd like to think I did quite well. One lives in Long Island, married to an American woman, the daughter is married and still lives here in Canada, with two kids of her own.

The son went into sales, the daughter into science. Astrophysics to be specific. The grandkids? Who knows. Lots of time for them to decide.

Neither one ever got tossed out of class by the cops, have ever been arrested, but like most kids experimented with alcohol and drugs. In both cases drugs never stuck. The son doesn't drink at all, and the daughter does. Their mom didn't drink and their natural father didn't either.

Oh yeah, I didn't mention I was their stepfather. Typically a more behaviorally challenging relationship in which to assert parental control.

But yeah, I don't know anything about raising teens......
