I'm missing where your problem is, OP. "Double standard?" What double standard?
Unless you mean your own. You want not only to be able to want only what you want, and to have the freedom to say what you like and don't like, but you also want everyone else to be prevented from saying what they like and what they want. The way freedom of choice works, is that each person can choose what they want. When there's NO double standard, that means that you can want who you want, and that who you want can want you...or not. It doesn't mean that you can want who you want, and that they have to like you for it. The way freedom of speech works is, that you can say what you like and don't like, and so can anyone else. It does NOT mean that you can say what you like and what you don't like, but that no one can say they think badly of you for that. |
