There may be another name for this but I call it lifescape painting.

It consists of using different color light to accent your home environment. I've seen it done with landscaping and a very few but effective interior spaces.

It consists of using small low watt spotlights to illuminate spaces in your home colors. I have seen many people use filters but a friend of mine used actual colored light bulbs. Many of the best designs also included black lights.

Its more than just shining a colored light on the wall. The goal is to create an atmosphere. During my younger days when I attended lots of Halloween parties some of the best lifescaping set a gloomy eerie feeling to the room. But I have also seen examples of cheery uplifting scapes.

Does anyone use colored light to create an atmosphere in their home? If so can you post a pic or two - I think it is astounding to see.

I'm told that when lifescaping the shadows are just as important as the lit areas.
