I love the Blues. The first real Blues song that grabbed me was Robert Johnson's "Crossroads Blues". What can I say..the real deal! The mythology and the mysteries surrounding his life, his music, and his death hooked me instantly. Still do...

How about the harmonica wriggling its place in here. Can not have the blues without it.... :)

I like all instruments including scat singing. My thing is the guitar work. Sometimes when the sax and guitar merge it gives me goosebumps.

Harmonica is a huge part of the blues! There are some most talented people. Like the sax and keyboards I find I like it best when it merges with the guitar. Like when a harmonica or pianos solo finalizes into a guitar lead without notice.

I've heard some purely electronic (keyboard/midi) generated stuff that also makes me shiver it is done so well.

I think my favorite songs are improv. You never know where they will take you. I enjoy the differences of studio to live versions too. There is usually longer solos.
