did you know the soviets lost 87.5 million people during the war. about 80% of total casualties of world war II. the eastern front (as we call it here) was the bloodiest battle of all times. i've read and watched lots of things on this and i believe the figure is round about 23 million and 15%, still far far too many though! |

Other than killing 3 million Jews, millions of others and the total destruction of Germany. He was an ok guy. Yea and practically destroyed Europe and set in motion the Cold War. root cause, maybe... but i put more blame on the government at the time, McCarthy and his ilk... I don't, you know where the term the Iron Curtain came from? Joseph Geobbels in the early 1940's. The Nazi's knew if they failed Russia would try to take control of most if not all of Europe. The Russians committed just as many war crimes as the Germans not to mention they also invaded Poland when Germany did, but England and France only declared war on Germany. Hitler had plans in the early 1930's of what he was going to do and he was advised to wait to start his war until 1942-1943 when they would have had a complete military, a massive Navy, Army and Air Force but he didn't have the patience and jumped the gun. I think if he would have waited and listened to his top military advisors the war would have had a much different outcome. Also General's Eisenhower and Patton knew exactly what was going to happen with the Soviets and warned Washington many times what the outcome would be and the Libbos running the country wouldn't listen. The first recorded application of the term to Communist Russia comes in Vasily Rozanov's 1918 polemic The Apocalypse of Our Times, and it is possible that Churchill read it there following the publication of the book's English translation in 1920. The passage runs: With clanging, creaking, and squeaking, an iron curtain is lowering over Russian History. "The performance is over." The audience got up. "Time to put on your fur coats and go home." so i am sorry to be an german Honestly you should be proud to be German, they are a hell of a lot better at nearly everything compared to the U.S., especially having a successful country.  is that why they have yet to win a war? Germany has history of over 2000 years, and the US is less than 300 years old, but yet we are a major superpower... Germans are a fine people, Technical skills unmatched in many categories, but bad leadership has always done them in.. win a war in what sense though? how do you define "war" as part of Prussia, they, along with, ironically, russian, british and turkish forces defeated napoleon's powerful french army. and Germany, as a state is only just over 140 years old, and as such has only contested 2 major global wars, WWI and WWII. i'm pretty sure Germany's "record" is not dissimilar to that of the US |

Hitler didn't want to take over the world neither does Putin. the exact same thing collapsed Germany is what collapsed Russia why talk about the past when its happening now. They also committed many war crimes killing up to 22,000 unarmed people, polish, jewish etc who were not combatants in one day. There are mass graves all over from where the Soviets buried their victims. The Nazi's and the Soviets, really no big difference. It makes me sick we allied with them but FDR was no better creating concentration camps in the United States for Unites States citizens who were Japanese, but the Democrats do have a very long history of racism. |
