This was wrote to me from a true friend and I wanted to share.
Ode to My Angel Debbie Fire in the sky Evil spirits brewing mischief A deathly stillness descends Atop the sentinel corner of the tower Azure, gold, burnt sienna bursting Into strange shapes and twists across the heavens Where angels fear to tread Yet such eerie delight A vision blinding with its aching beauty -Gem |

Alone, i stand in the shifting of days
A remnant of passing times and lore. Your fiery shades of purple haze Come nigh to entice me once more. Join my silent soliloquey, my friend Let the sun set upon our wizened walls. Tomorrow shall come when the night ends, And I remain as you journey once more. |

I stand alone.
Outside our castle. Where once you called me your queen. I called you my king, beloved. On the roof as the stars witnessed our romance the earth could have moved and we would not have known. We loved like a dream in the secluded bowers, our private world not seen. In our thousand years together we found life and death, what it is to be captive and to be free. You honored me, I honored you I cut loose the torments, the scarlet ribbons binding me the fiery lace bandeau is ripped from me. Still, I am bound to you, Now I stand alone. Tears my heart, my king. To remember you is two eyes striking the world on fire, then closing slowly vacant, empty. Your comet has been, I caught the tail. |

Thanks Debbie. I adored the one written for you. So much imagery packed into those lines.... It was in relation to the photo, not about me or for me, I don't think, just for this thread and to share. |

TommyBoy, I would love to see your poetic take on Debbie's photo. Dazzle us!
Ode means that someone thinks highly of you, Debbie, no matter what inspired them to write the poem. |
