yes I would.
Growing up we had a family doctor (Dr. Elia). He actually made house calls. He also delivered all 8 of us. He would know within 5 minutes exactly what aliment we had and he would treat it. He would also tell my mother how to keep the rest of us from catching it.

He was obese and the best doctor I ever had. I would listen to him any day.

Not really. I don't believe a lot with what doctors say. I believe in more preventative health, and still doctors want to give a prescription. I bring up studies that were being done for years using natural remedies and ask for their opinion and often they say "I don't know much about that". I was born with arthritis, so I do my own research. I have better results on my own by looking for nonprescription treatments. There are many, many kinds of arthritis and can't be treated the same. I think a lot of doctors are afraid of me and my problems so they don't want to do research.

offtopic Catinidaho....I understand your dilema. Everyone should find a dr that will truly TALK to you and get to know YOU personally. Emotional health is directly connected to our physical health and every GOOD Dr knows that. I hope you find a great Doc for You.

back to topic....I agree with Annie...just because my Dr has a health issue does not mean he/she is not knowledgeable, it simply means they are human. We all can tell/show others how something is done, but we don't always do it for ourselves...it is simply something we all do at some point. I trust and respect my Dr almost to a "friend" level. I appreciate her personal talk as well as her professional talk. shades

I find that question quite offensive tbh so an obese doctor can't give advice because he is overweight that's actually discrimination. You should be ashamed of yourself

Well, everyone struggles and for different reasons. You might find that an obese doctor has some insight.

Everyone has their own cross to bear. If he or she was knowledgeable in all areas and competent. Yes I would.
For example I love my GP in Sitka, and he would tell me you have to quit smoking or it is going to kill you...
I would tell him I am well aware of that..

His next statement would be and when you do please tell me how I can't seem to give up my Saturday night cigar to save my life...

So yes I would listen to him
