Ok...so I was just wondering if any of the parents on here bigsmile ever get offended if someone who IS NOT A PARENT tells you some "rude" advice??nowayIm sorry...but if you dont have kids and you try to tell ME how to raise MY kids...I get angry! I dont mind if ppl say something like "well, if I was a mom..i might try this, etc,," but I just dont like the idea if they start out with " YOU should...blah,blah!"....HELL NO!!noway noway

So does anyone else get offended too or is it just me??laugh laugh

I used to let it get to me, but since they have no clue what's really involved with parenting, I blow it off and smile!!

Then, when I get away, I LMAO at the rediculousness of their statement, knowing why now they have no kids!!

It bigs the crap out of me when people do that...

But the biggest offender in my life doing this is, of all people...

My father!

HE is the ABSOLUTE WORST... I keep telling him he had his chance and messed it up... he's even gonna so far as to sign permission slips for my son for school... I was LIVID!!!!

AS someone with no kids, I try not to step on toes. Sometimes, that advice slips out without advance notice. laugh

Let it go. We mean well.

And for what it's worth, we dog moms put up with the same darn thing. Everybody tells me what I "should do" with my furkids. Most of them are cat people. laugh laugh

I think maybe they have brothers and sisters that have kids and maybe they have been around them a lot...so NO it really doesn't bother me to much. Now once in awhile, I do get annoyed and sometimes I can't hold it back.
I guess the one thing that annoys me the most is when someone that is young trys to talk about marriage. When people talk about marriage that is what bugs the heck out of me. I think until you live in that situation...you should not try to give advice. Esp saying you should never get divorced grumble

I do have very strong opinions and I do voice them once in awhile

it can be mildly annoying. but really the BEST parenting advice always comes from the mother-in-law yep. bar none. oh and of course your real MOM - whew - doncha just LOVE it when family weighs in on those important issues like what to feed them, what toys they should or should not have, clothing, or educational suggestions...and above all else WHAT YOU COULD DO BETTER as a parent to their grandchildren!

hahaha omg...laugh

When my kids were little- I used to think that people with
no children giving advice to people with kids was a joke!

I think the only true advice would be from another parent.
Exsperiance speaks multitudes...

As for the advice given by people with no kids-
I just smile and say thanks...
