Topic: Has Betelgeuse gone Supernova?

Now, this is another interesting topic of discussion I want to share with you guys. We are told Betelgeuse can go supernova any time now and when it happens we will see it as a very bright star in the night sky for some weeks.

When we first found this star, it was as if we were looking into the past...some 430 years back. So, we never know if it has already exploded some years back. Probably it has !!

What are the chances that we will see Betelgeuse going supernova in our life-times...lets say in another 50 years? Any guesses?

That would be impossible to predict with our given technology. We can only hope for that spectular display in our lifetime.

They did just discover this past June the brightest supernova ever; but remain puzzled of it's energy source. That sounds fascinating! It can only be seen via telescope. I think it's called asassn or something like that.

The distance to super red giants is notoriously difficult to predict, it could be up to 650 light years away.

Also I read somewhere that it could explode from anytime now to somewhere in the next million years.

I'm not sure I'd want to see it explode in my life time although it is a fascinating subject.

One of the stars used by sailors for celestial navigation.

There's a great documentary, can't think of the name, but it's about the Giza Pyramids and how they were built to match Orion's belt in the sky.

Clever people those Egyptians. If you ever come across it, it's well worth a watch

Found something about an hour long by Nassim Haramein. He seems interesting to watch.

There's also a great documentary about a guy called 'Henry the navigator'.

He was actually a Portuguese prince but he was fascinated by the stars and he drew up some principals for the Portuguese sailors to use for celestial navigation. Can't remember when he was around but it was a good few hundred years ago.
The mathematics is unbelievable, especially considering there were no calculators back then.

Right, enough on this subject, I'll stop boring people now ohwell

There are people working on transports right now, as in, 'beam me up Scotty.
It will be w few years yet before they are tested but you could get from Aus to anywhere in a flash.

By the way, you lot were lucky in that 2nd test ohwell

Joe

While watching that vid the numbers 13 & 64 stood out to me. So I searched and found this.

"Z3S1LJj1YKAyqzIhA3xgH2I2Z24=" and "13+64" scribbled on it. Can you decode the message?

I ran it thru the rot13 decoder and base64 decoder like they said and got the same answer. It was:

3qual5-seven7y-Sev3n

Which reads "equals seventy seven", the sum of 13 and 64.

Completely off topic but pretty cool. Language buried in language.

I finally finished that Giza video. The orions belt alignment is surely not a coincidence. Too perfect. The key to everything seems to lay within the 64 tetrahedron grid. The pyramids seem to have been there already; then the Egyptians carved their hieroglyphs into them. They were great at documenting, so it's to be expected to find plans and construction notations of the pyramids but there are none.

Very interesting.

No doubt why some researchers say the big three pyramids were possibly built by aliens that had much better technology and mind.

I wonder if someone has done a timeline study to create differring timelines of any significant subject like inventions of technology, economy, medicine, philoshical discoveries, war, etc. From today all the way to first recorded history. Then compare them for patterns.

A timeline I like to read about is the history of color and color blindness. What if we were all colorblind at one time. What if colorblindness is the norm and our brain developed color later?

I don't know if it was aliens. Heck, for all we know it could have been us and maybe we started devolving rather than evolving.

We just need more of us to spend time with free thought. Too much white noise.
