Topic: Am I Saved | |
---|---|
I have felt at times in the past that maybe I wasn't saved. Then a great brother told me not to worry, look up Romans ten and ask yourself did I do this.
Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. You literally have to come to the realization that Christ died for you and everyone. It will make you wonder, what in the world was i waiting for. JOHN 20:29 Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed. Only faith "full belief" in Jesus Christ can provide salvation. Ask in your own way this is just a guide. "Dear heavenly Father I am sorry Christ had to take the punishment that I deserve." "I ask you Christ that you please forgive me of all my sins. I thank you Lord for your wonderful grace and forgiveness. After your done tell a pastor at a Christian Church that you have asked Christ for Salvation and go to Sunday school you'll find fellowship to be a great help as you grow as a Christian. |

After your done tell a pastor at a Christian Church that you have asked Christ for Salvation and go to Sunday school you'll find fellowship to be a great help as you grow as a Christian. I have been a Christian for about 38 years. Until recently I bought into the teachings from the pulpit and graduated from Ministry School. I always had some questions and was always chastised for asking. The church doesn't like difficult questions. God, on the other hand, welcomes them. Ephesians is a good place to start. I am gong to make a statement that will garner some ire. The New Testament start is not with Matthew 1:1. Look up the meaning of Testament, Covenant, and Will. They are all the same. If I write a Last Will and Testament (redundant) it does not become valid until I die. Who made the promise of a New testament God did. He had to die for it to become valid. Most of the Gospels are jesus talking to Jews and explaining that the Law does not save you it shows that you can't be saved because you can't follow all 613 rules. He died to fulfill that law and we are not living under the law. What is a big deal in the Church? Tithing, yet it is not scriptural according to the New Testament. The last place where tithing is demanded is in Malachi. Praying daily for forgiveness is useless. You were forgiven 2,000 years ago. That means that your future sins are forgiven before you commit them. Back to the NT. Over 99% of it is in Acts - Revelation. Most of that actually starts in Romans. We should study the OT because it re enforces the teaching of Jesus of the futility of trying to live by the Law. "All have sinned nd fall short of the Glory of God. But if you confess your sins you shall be cleansed of all unrighteousness." Only has to be done once. It would be stupid for me to for ask my parents to make me again. It was done once for all time. Same thing with God. He saved you through the sacrifice of Jesus once for all time. |

Same thing with God. He saved you through the sacrifice of Jesus once for all time. ROMANS 6 1What should we say, then? Should we go on sinning so that grace may increase? 2Of course not! How can we who died as far as sin is concerned go on living in it? 3 Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into union with the Messiah Jesus were baptized into his death? 4Therefore, through baptism we were buried with him into his death so that, just as the Messiah was raised from the dead by the Father's glory, we too may live an entirely new life. 5For if we have become united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his. 6We know that our old natures were crucified with him so that our sin-laden bodies might be rendered powerless and we might no longer be slaves to sin. 7For the person who has died has been freed from sin. 8Now if we have died with the Messiah, we believe that we will also live with him, 9for we know that the Messiah, who was raised from the dead, will never die again; death no longer has mastery over him. 10For when he died, he died once and for all as far as sin is concerned. But now that he is alive, he lives for God. 11In the same way, you too must continuously consider yourselves dead as far as sin is concerned, but living for God through the Messiah Jesus. 12Therefore, do not let sin rule your mortal bodies so that you obey their desires. 13Stop offering the parts of your body to sin as instruments of unrighteousness. Instead, offer yourselves to God as people who have been brought from death to life and the parts of your body as instruments of righteousness to God. 14For sin will not have mastery over you, because you are not under Law but under grace. 1What should we say, then? Should we go on sinning because we are not under Law but under grace? Of course not! 16Don't you know that when you offer yourselves to someone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one you obey-either of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness? 17But thank God that, though you were once slaves of sin, you became obedient from your hearts to that form of teaching with which you were entrusted! 18And since you have been freed from sin, you have become slaves of righteousness. 19I am speaking in simple terms because of the frailty of your human nature. Just as you once offered the parts of your body as slaves to impurity and to greater and greater disobedience, so now, in the same way, you must offer the parts of your body as slaves to righteousness that leads to sanctification. 20For when you were slaves of sin, you were "free" as far as righteousness was concerned. 21What benefit did you get from doing those things you are now ashamed of? For those things resulted in death. 22But now that you have been freed from sin and have become God's slaves, the benefit you reap is sanctification, and the result is eternal life. 23For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in union with the Messiah Jesus our Lord. 19I am speaking in simplek terms because of the frailty of your human nature.l Just as you once offered the parts of your bodym as slaves to impurity and to greater and greater disobedience, so now, in the same way, you must offer the parts of your bodyn as slaves to righteousness that leads to sanctification. 20For when you were slaves of sin, you were “free” as far as righteousness was concerned. 21What benefit did you get from doing those things you are now ashamed of? No one is 100% we live by repentance, repent and you shall be forgiven for our Lord is Merciful. amen, if we were 100% so to speak, there would never been a reason for Jesus to do what he did. Nor change of covenant's or anything. Life today would be as God originally created it in the Garden of Eden. But through his grace, mercy, and love for us, he did what he did to try to more ensure our spot in the paradise with him. |
