I think I am on JSH for several reasons. Yes it would be nice to get to know a desireable person for a personal relationship with the opposite sex that isn't the whole reason this site is a favorite.
Many of the topics are funny , interesting, or just thought provoking.
Sometimes I feel I can actually contribute; weather it is only another view point, what I have learned by my experience, resources, compassion,humor, praise, faith support, or sometimes a verbal swat in the pants. I know no one has to agree and sometimes what I think is not going to apply but I truely do give it in the spirit that someone may benifit so I hope that is how it is taken. You can certainly disagree or suggest why I should try another position and still be considered respectfully. I will be the first to say I absoutely don't know when I don't and am guessing which on limited info you often are; but a sucessful scholar, employee, wife, mother, business owner, and navigated a large number of other life issues personally and professionaly as the matriarch of a huge family and lived all over the USA I can have a say on a lot of topics. Or at least suggest a good place to go for an answer.
Also is the wide variety of people with remarkable personalities that I hope to become friends with. Funny, giving, supportive, and honest people who seem to be opening themselves in the truest form of social community. Not just those my age but the spectrum. For you younger ones that I offer input it is because I see your potential and have every faith in the world with wisdom and experience you will surpass anything that I have attained. For a retired social worker who has seen people and systems fail repeatedly you restore my faith in the future.
Last, and probably not least, is I have the time to enjoy this free forum of journalism. I am sick of the over priced, often no better run, hook up sites and the loosely structured format is easy to use for a not terribly techocapable person.

Oh yea those of you who come and go with out participateing in the forums are really missing a chance for personal improvement or letting people know how interesting and real you are. Some of your profiles really don't do you justice but your posts make you interesting even intrigueing. I have a few of you on my list as someone I would love to know and introduce to friends I have scattered across the USA

A good date will always start if your good friends to begin with! :-)

Im using here for friends, but if summit else comes of it then so be!... time will tell i guess :-)

yeah me too. that would save me the trouble of actually having to look.

let me get out my super-sized calender, with the extra large squares and numberic dates....then I can use the GIANT black permanent marker sharpie to (pencil) in this date.

Dates are nice. My calendar is empty though! lol
