Topic: Mr. Trump, Don't Apologize

NBC has officially cut ties with Donald Trump over comments he made describing Mexican immigrants as criminals.

They called his comments derogatory and offensive.

A petition generated nearly a quarter million signatures – but it’s unclear how many of those who signed it are legal citizens.

The cold hard reality is that Mr. Trump has nothing to apologize for. He was telling the truth.

According to the numbers provided by Immigration and Customs Enforcement – nearly 87,000 illegals were captured committing criminal acts in the United States.

One of the leading countries of origin — according to our government — is Mexico. And yes – there is documented evidence linking Mexican illegals to drugs and rapes and murders in our country.

* In 2008, Eduardo Raul Morales-Soriano, an illegal from Mexico, pleaded guilty in a drunk driving accident that killed a Marine and his date.

* In 2014 an illegal pleaded guilty to attempting to transport a minor child with the intent of engaging in sexual activity.

The documentation goes on and on and on.

Back in the old days – people crossing the border from one country into another was called an invasion. They used to fight wars over stuff like that. But now – they just play politics.

Millions and millions of illegals have invaded our nation. They are taking American jobs. They are draining our healthcare and public school systems — freeloading off the American taxpayer.

But instead of securing the border, the Democrats are down there with a welcome wagon.

I don’t get NBC — firing a man who told the truth.

Again, this is a polarizing topic but I understand both sides. He had every right to say what he did BUT when you are running for office for a position as highly influential and important as POTUS, you need to be more diplomatic in how and what you say. His bold, even if true, statements made him appear like a prejudiced loose cannon and offended many people. Who knows who he could offend next and end up causing World War III? We can't afford having someone as President who throws out statements without thinking about the consequences of his words. Think before you speak.

As a candidate for the presidency, negatively singling out a group of people is in very bad form. I think he successfully ruined his chances by showing how unqualified he is for the position early on.

I don't think Donald Trump should apologize. Enough with the PC crap, and the current administration's agenda. Illegal immigrants are a problem & so is paying for them & their crimes & this 'open border/ no border ' CRAP. rant

He can keep talking but he will only keep putting his foot in it. The best way he could have dealt with this is diplomatically mentioning that dealing with this matter would have been part of his foreign policy, instead of boldly attacking and singling out a group of people. He just sounds whiny and prejudiced now. Wave goodbye to your presidential dreams, The Donald.

Eric, as I mentioned before, it's not just about the Mexicans, who have support from other countries and institutions. Even if they didn't, Donald should be more diplomatic in his public speaking. He will attack another group later down the road and another and he will end up offending the wrong party one day. We will be blown up because he can't control his vitriol, even if it is understandable. It doesn't excuse his public conduct. I completely agree with him, as do many, BUT he needs to be careful in how he presents himself.

IMO - It is not singling out a group. THEY are Mexican, THEY are a border county. THEY keep coming in. THEY are committing speakable crimes. WE can not handle or afford THEM.
The truth is the truth.
Enough of this MERICA crap of 'not offending people'.

Post Script -
I can not wait... until he starts about "Sharia Law Communities " in the The United States. & I hope he says " Who gives a sh@t about the pope coming in September to meet Obama & address Congress & make 'an announcment? ' ". WE are NOT the NEW ROME, or a Roman Catholic country.

* and they just had over 300,000 people protesting. *

If NBC canceled Trump's project because he uttered offensive statements, why do they have Sharpton still on MSNBC?

I'm not taking side on this one but it would be interesting to find out how many Mexicans Trump has working in his casino, hotels and other service companies.

I would bet there are.. and a lot. In the kitchens, cleaning the rooms and other poor paying jobs.

Just curious

Besides.. how many WOMEN are doing those jobs all across the country ( white, black, tan, red, yellow, rainbow..& NOT getting a FAIR wage ? )

I have run many distribution centers out of South Ca.99% of the workers in the warehouses are Mexican. And 99% are illegal. Businesses get around that by going thru a employment agency.. and there is no shortage of them. The agencies " take care of everything". That is how businesses get around that.

Hell, Ca. even gives illegals drivers licenses, because fact is, if they were to deport all of the Mexicans in that area the economy would come to a stand still. As these Mexicans do the jobs that most American kids don't want to do anymore, i.e. cut your grass, make your food, paint your house, work in low paying jobs ect. ( you know, the jobs we did as teenagers).

So, in my opinion the American government AND the American people allowed this to happen.. mostly in part for cheap labor.

And with that we now have a huge drug and gang problem and a strain on our infrastructure services ( hospitals, medical clinics, schools). Most of these people get paid under the table or a portion under the table, so no tax is being paid either.

Lets call it the way it is, they get here and first thing they do..have a kid.. Bingo!!.. your in.

In my town they built a Mexican outreach medical clinic.. no questions asked.. just come it. no payment required. And all I see is young Mexican woman pushing baby strollers. I have never seen or even heard of a INS raid.

Although every week the Mexican names in the police log in the local newspaper grows and grows.

1) you can't abuse and verbally annilate the plethora of humanity in the way that 'Ole Comb Over' has done! {see the other thread} where I posted - provided the link - for his all time TOP 5 worst humiliating - vitriolic attacks against many nationalities & women too whoa

2) in his announcement spewed rhetoric: "I'll build a wall between Mexico & USA - make Mexico pay for it - and I'll get it built cheaply"; well hell yes, all of your construction {ie homes included} were built with cheap Mexican labor...did your foreman's check for proof of citizenship? Not Likley grumble

Devildog - I'll have to agree with you on your post! In the 70's while working on Quarter Horse farms & the Aksarben thorough bred race track; the number of illegals and they're system for coming up and into America was via the Rio Grande and the underground of the Quarter Horse {big money in Texas}! Oh, sure there'd be the occasional 'GREEN CARD' Immigration Check ups; but with just enough money to those {few & far between inspectors} you got to keep you 'illegals working' with zero down time!

Every 3 months; the **warning** phone calls would start making the rounds of the Quarter horse farms and the thoroughbred race tracks! Even the illegals had their own 'mafia bosses' that would come around and obtain money from those working young men {mostly 16 - 20 yrs old}---their paying the 'FIELD BOSS' for finding the jobs for them; this pay back had no end game - the bribes went on forever!

When we relocated back to this area {1999 mid central KS}; I was shocked and appalled by the increase of illegals to the area --- 65% of the population in the school district I was working as a Para-professional at was illegal children! OMG --- but they're parents were employed at the local IBP {iowa beef packers} meat packing plant. Commerce/packer plants/equine industry/crop growers/and now builders have allowed this to happen and encouraged it as well --- our country has been turning a 'BLIND EYE' to this illegal activity for --- well since the 70's for sure! rant

Donald Trump Sues Univision For $500 Million

Donald Trump, a Republican presidential candidate, is suing Univision. The Spanish-language TV network dropped its coverage of Miss USA and Miss Universe — two beauty pageants that Trump co-owns — because of Trump's remarks about Mexican immigrants during his presidential campaign announcement on June 16. NBCUniversal also dropped the pageant programming.

NPR's Andrew Limbong reports that Trump is seeking $500 million, and that in the suit, Trump claims Univision is attempting to suppress his freedom of speech.

Here's an excerpt from The Trump Organization's statement:

"Under the contract, Univision is required to broadcast the pageant live on television in Spanish. While Univision claims its decision came solely in response to comments by Mr. Trump during a June 16 campaign speech announcing his candidacy for President of the United States, the decision was, in reality, a politically motivated attempt to suppress Mr. Trump's freedom of speech under the First Amendment as he begins to campaign for the nation's presidency."

In an email to Politico, Univision spokesperson Monica Talan called the complaint "both factually false and legally ridiculous." She adds:

"We will not only vigorously defend the case, but will continue to fight against Mr. Trump's ongoing efforts to run away from the derogatory comments he made on June 16th about Mexican immigrants. Our decision to end our business relationship with Mr. Trump was influenced solely by our responsibility to speak up for the community we serve."

NPR's Greg Allen reported on Trump's comments last week:

" 'When do we beat Mexico at the border?' Trump said during his lengthy presidential announcement speech at Trump Tower in New York. 'They're sending people that have lots of problems, and they're bringing those problems with us. They're bringing drugs, they're bringing crime. They're rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.' "

Trump continues to defend what he said. Tuesday's statement quotes him in part saying, "There is a high level of crime occurring in this country due to unchecked illegal immigration. This is a major security issue for the United States."

by your own account..........millions millions of illegals (of which a portion are mexican) are invading our borders....and according to ICE...87,000 of those illegals (of which a portion are mexican) have been captured commiting criminal acts...

the simple math is....87,000 is less than 10% of one (1) million....that percentage declines exponentially with the addition of the other millions and millions of invaders...

leave it to Mr. Trump to disparage the vast majority of any group or nationality, in its entirety, and judge them according to the actions of a small pct. of the total...

Donald Trump, presidential material ??....i hardly think so, more appropriately, he'd make a real good house painter...as he has a collection of the broadest of brushes to get the job completed....

this pompous buffoon has zero chance of becoming the next president of the united states...and if he, by some miracle, wins the GOP nomination, well then, all of you republican/conservatives can look forward to another four years of democrat/liberal administration....

COULTER: ‘I’M OFFENDED’ IS NOT AN ARGUMENT AGAINST TRUMP, FACTS BACK HIM UP

by CAROLINE MAY
30 Jun 2015

The pushback against Donald Trump’s comments about Mexican immigrants is emotional, knee-jerk and not fact-based, according to political commentator and author of the new book ‘Adios, America’ Ann Coulter.

Monday, NBC announced it was cutting ties with Trump following the backlash over the GOP presidential contender’s view that Mexican immigrants are bringing their problems to the U.S.

“They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people,” Trump said during his campaign announcement earlier this month.

Coulter, who devotes a goodly portion of her new book to immigrant crime and the media’s failure to report fully on the “immigrant crime wave,” points out that arguments against Trump amount to a straw man claim that “not all Mexicans are rapists.”

“The point is: Why should America be taking in ANY RAPISTS?” Coulter wrote in an email to Breitbart News. “Were we short on rapists? By definition, we’re talking about people who have no right to be here. If Mexico is sending us 2 rapists – THEY’RE SENDING US RAPISTS.”

As Coulter points out in “Adios, America” and noted to Breitbart News, “the evidence indicates that they’re sending a lot more than” just two rapists.

“Child rape used to be an incredibly rare crime in America,” she explained. “Not anymore! In some Hispanic neighborhoods in the the United States of America, police have given up on even prosecuting statutory rape. It’s a ‘cultural thing.’”

Coulter’s book looks at the prevalence of such crimes — noting that the Centers for Disease Control have reported Hispanic children are seven times more likely to give birth between the ages of 10-14 than white children or 1.4 out of every thousand to 0.2 per thousand.

Breitbart News, for example, has reported that ICE deported over 860 sex offenders from the state of Texas during the first half of FY 2014, 27 percent of who were convicted of sex crimes against children. According to ICE, Texas has removed more than 2,000 sex offenders every year over the past three years.

On drugs, Coulter is equally unequivocal, saying “there’s no question that the majority of heroin and meth in the U.S. is being brought in by Mexicans. See the NYT, Forbes magazine and a billion other mainstream media articles on the topic over the years.”

The Washington Post, for example, reports that Mexico and Columbia “account for more than 90 percent of the U.S. heroin supply, and nearly all of it is smuggled into this country by Mexican traffickers.”

And as FBI reported in 2013, Mexican Transnational Criminal Organizations work with U.S. based gangs most often to traffic drugs, “as drugs provide the primary source of revenue for US-based gangs while MTCOs control most of the cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine, and marijuana trafficked from Mexico into the United States.”

Coulter points out that while the evidence surrounds, the government is not good at collecting or disseminating specific statists about immigrant crime.

“Why don’t we know exactly how many drug dealers in our prisons are foreigners? Why is our [government] refusing to tell us how many immigrants have been convicted of rape or murder in the U.S.? The [government] won’t tell us and the media cover up immigrant crime, while broadcasting every immigrant who wins a spelling bee. the facts that exist suggest that the immigrant crime wave is enormous,” Coulter wrote, pointing out that her book elaborates on those points.

In 2009, when the the Center for Immigration Studies attempted a comprehensive look at the issue of immigrant crime, CIS ran up against the data problem.

Problems with data collection and contrary results characterize information about the link between immigrants and crime. A new estimate from ICE’s Secure Communities Initiative and data from the 287(g) program tend to show high rates of immigrant crime. This directly contradicts earlier academic research based on census data and other demographic and generic crime reporting data. A comparison of the 2000 census and government estimates shows how difficult it is to draw conclusions about immigrant criminality. Results from the 2000 census imply that only about 4 percent of prisoners in jails and prisons are immigrants (legal and illegal), but the new ICE estimates show it is 20 percent. What’s more, an audit by an outside firm of eight million inmate records paid for by ICE found that about 22 percent of inmates are immigrants. But questions remain regarding all of these numbers.

One of the authors of that report, CIS director of research Steven Camorota, told Breitbart Tuesday that the dangers of the porous U.S.-Mexico border are a serious problem but took issue with the idea that one country’s nationals are to blame.

“In my view [Trump] should have said that a failure to control illegal immigration means that anyone who has been previously deported for a serious crime can come right back and live in the United States with little difficulty. It also means that those who have records in their own country can do the same. This is a very seriously problem. But, he should not single out immigrants from one country,” Camorota explained in an email, arguing that the comments were more inflammatory than educational.

Meanwhile Coulter noted that instead of have a debate, the media’s reaction has been to remain silent.

“Incidentally, if Trump and I were wrong, the media wouldn’t have to censor us. But whenever anyone speaks the truth about our current immigration policies: BANNED. Yes, that’s how many facts they have on their side!” she concluded.
