Topic: Out of curiosity, what do YOU drive? | |
---|---|
Just wondering, if you view my profile you probably have a good idea that I'm driving a pretty much well-built and tuned 1993 Honda Civic hatchback with tons of modifications and upgrades. And, I also have a 1991 Honda Civic sedan that I am working on.
Do you drive? Do you use public transportation like a bus or subway? Train? What kind of car? Dumb topic? lol |

That's cool, I've finally started a discussion that pertains to my interests! haha.
To be more specific, my 93 Civic hatch includes: Built D16Z6 motor, ARP studs, intake, header, exhaust, Yonaka coilovers, eibach lower control arms and rear strut brace, spoon duck bill and front lip, push-button start, full 2.5" exhaust system, the ecu has been chipped and tuned to performance specs with the bolt on parts, short shifter with type R knob, anti-theft proofed to the max, all silicon hoses and lines under the hood, koyo aluminum radiator and custom fan wired to a switch below the steering wheel, 1" wheel spacers to set the rims more flush with the fenders/quarter panels, and the list still goes on. Anybody like "datwasntme" have any modifications done to their rides? |

I drive a 13 Honda Fit. For most part like it. I will sell it to you Jman in about ten years way after it is paid off. Prior a 2000 Toyota Corolla with an engine that I totally rebuilt. I did have a 96 Honda Civic 4 door that is still in my picture. I liked that car probably more than my Fit. 1.6 single overhead cam motor with a five speed transmission. The motor was extremely easy to work on. I even tore apart the transmission and replaced the input shaft bearing. Unfortunately the car was a real rust bucket. Even though I replaced the undercarriage that held the engine and transmission, I still traded it in for the Toyota. A HUGE mistake, the Corolla is a crappy car especially the 2000. I bought the Fit to improve my credit score, since I am going to buy a house. No credit makes it really hard to get a mortgage. Ironically my dream car is a Toyota Sienna between 2006 and 2010 with Leather interior. Probably will get it in the Fall when I have more money. I just paid off my appendix surgery and week stay at a hospital. Ironically I detail vehicles for the County here in Florida, I am not a mechanic. Just my passion.

I just paid off my appendix surgery and week stay at a hospital. Ironically I detail vehicles for the County here in Florida, I am not a mechanic. Just my passion. Pure sweetness. I bought my first car at 16 years old before I had a license, 1993 Honda Civic sedan with the d15b7 motor. It had a loud muffler and I learned how to drive standard in it. I blew the motor up within two weeks..so I got online and started reading the forums on Hondaswap, Honda-Tech, etc. and purchased haynes as well as Factory Service Manuals. I was in the auto shop in high school, surrounded by tools and lifts. Then, I saved up $1100 and had a JDM-spec D15B SOHC VTEC motor, transmission, and p08 ecu shipped to the shop. I pretty much taught myself due to my instructor being lazy and sitting around, smoking cigars all day. So, I taught myself (with little help from a friend) how to swap a motor and transmission, re-wire everything, etc. and spent my two week Christmas vacation at the shop doing the swap. Everything took off from there that motor pulls hard, so I blew like $5,000 on that car in parts and then wrecked it..still miss it and been a Honda guy ever since. |
