to help somebody you just met?
.. ok here's the scenario.. you just met someone online.. they live one and a half hours.. outside of your city..
you have messaged each other and talk on the phone.. for one week..
.. you get along quite well.. but they never send you a picture of what they exactly look like... it's very hit and miss.... no full body shot..pic.. and yes with clothes on..lol...

.. so now they tell you they want to move in to your city.... but they need your help.... they do not know anyone else to ask.... but they do have one or two friends... they have told you this already... in a previous conversation..

... they want you to bring a u-haul van to where they live.. help load it up..
drive it back to your city.. help unload it.. and then return the van back to u haul.... this will eat up most of your Saturday... your one day off by the way..lol.... now remember.. you have only known them online for one week.... but you like them.. even though you do not have a clear picture of what they look like...lol..

.and.. oh yeah.. you have to pick up the u-haul on your own..... and bring it to them.... the person you are.. talking with online....

... so do you go help this person..

Yes.. they're not looking to move in.. they just need a hand to move..... they are new to your.. city and do not really know anyone.... well they have a couple friends but they aren't able to help...



... myself I want to be a helpful person.. on one hand....

.. but on the other hand.. I'm thinking this is a lot to ask..of .me.. especially since we have never met...

... but I can sympathize and no.. that they truly need some help....

I would say no sorry but to ask that of someone u don't know haven't met etc.smacks to me of freeloading big time.and as u said they probably done this before.its the height of cheek to ask something so big of someone u known a week or so.save yer time and money for someone who deserves it and u.

you should have asked me to help you move..lol

or start a removal business and say sorry its a 1000 bucks upfront before I even get outta bed

.. just the driving.. is a three hour round trip.. not to mention the loading and unloading..... I just feel like.. she is a lady in distress..

I would have to tell her no....or she can pick up the U-haul and you can lend a few hours to help unload once she gets to your town.

....just seems odd to me her asking that....by the way who's paying for the u-haul? You or her?

And.. that's the thing that bothers me the most... she isn't willing to come get the U Haul.... if it was a question.. of her just needing someone to drive.. and help with the bigger items..
.... and she said.. I will come into the city.. pick up the u-haul..... but I could really use some help. with the bigger items.... I would have felt more comfortable..... but wanting me to get the U Haul and bring it to her...

now maybe if we have been seeing each other for a month or two... sure no problem......but.. yeah it just seems.... a little bit needy.....hmm..
