Hundreds of passengers at a bus stand in Kalpetta in Kerala's Wayanad district were left shell-shocked and deeply embarrassed when a television set installed to broadcast advertisements suddenly started showing a pornographic video. The information came to light on Wednesday after a Reddit user 'dark0range', who witnessed the event, posted about it on Reddit/india. According to dark0range, the video played out for a full 30 minutes at the state-run bus depot on Tuesday before it could be switched off as no one could find the power source and the operator's room was locked. "Some even tried to put a cloth on the TV, but the sound couldn't be stopped. Mothers with their children, college girls and some others ran away," dark0range said on Reddit. The drama came to an end when someone found an iron rod and struck down the power cable. Police later caught the 38-year-old cable operator, Manzoor, who confessed he had plugged in the wrong pen drive which contained pornographic material. "A case has been registered. The accused was arrested and his computer was seized," Kalpetta circle inspector KK Abdul Shereef told Hindustan Times. Manzoor was produced in court on Wednesday. He has been booked under section 292 of the Indian Penal Code (obscene and indecent advertisement and display), the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, and various sections of the Information Technology Act. It could not be ascertained whether this was a one-off incident or affected other locations. |

He should be arrested the pervert just wanted to shock & upset as many people as possible.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Section_294_of_the_Indian_Penal_Code Section 294 of the Indian Penal Code lays down the punishment for obscene acts or words in public. The other sections of Indian Penal code which deal with obscenity are 292 and 293. The law does not clearly define what would constitute an obscene act, but it would enter the domain of the state only when it takes place in a public place to the annoyance of others. Temple art or nakedness of sadhus are traditionally outside the purview of this section. |

Actually, from what's posted so far, making any final judgment about this at all is an irresponsible act.
All that is known, is that the guy claims to have put a thumb drive in which had porn on it. He claims to have done it by accident. Turning this incident into proof that "this is what happens when someone is fed up with their job" is lacking. There is nothing to support the claim that he is a "pervert" who should be arrested or jailed. All it is at this point, is mildly amusing. Porn is pretty popular, including among the most self-righteous of us, so this kind of thing is going to happen. All it really does, is show how cheap the system is that they use to put ads up at the bus stop. I'd bet the fool was locked in his cubicle, thought he had the right program running to the bus stop, and put some "personal entertainment" in to watch in what he THOUGHT was a separate window. But who knows. Maybe there will be follow up later confirming something, but I doubt it. |

This isn't the first time I read about people putting porn on pin-drives. What's the idea? Why would someone walk around with it? And bringing personal stuff at work: big no-no.
Porn should stay on the servers and locked from download but what do I know... |

" Arrested & jailed '... because he broke the law in his county- India. * Code listed above * So he is a criminal. " An irresponsible act "... failed / made a mistake/ or intentional.... at his job, people have been fired & arrested for alot less in the United States & thru out the world. ....Exposing women & children, to pornography, it certainly is a "irresponsible act " & a crime in many places. And in public, making them run screaming. He probably got off more on that (sexualized shock factor) than his porn addiction ( let's face it, he had it or had been watching it on his job site, 10 to 1, the police probably needed luminal to document the perp's ejaculate ... His porn addiction in his 'cubicle' probably isn't enough anymore, so he had to intensity it. So yea.. he is a " Pervert '', IMO & apparently Indian authorities & lots & lots of , " Mommies " on the planet. |

Either you got me wrong or in your place porn might be broadcasted on all public system to watch with the whole family or it might be a public festival. Sorry but you have heard ads at bus stop for the first time. This is not cheap, it is progressive to provide the waiting passengers with some sort of entertainment and for your information as you are hearing ads at bus stop for the first time, broadcaster not only shows ads but news, bus schedule and public related information also and I don't see any cheapness in this. There is no harm in watching porn but should be watched in private. |
