I have had several MRI's and if you are accustom to the noise and just tune it out it is not a big deal. Gives you a lot more information than other tests. The dye has not affected my arthritis.
Hand surgery is sometimes a breeze and sometimes not. Therapy and recovery are slower than most expect. Again prevention of further injury is worth the effort because it is easy to do and not mean to.
On the foot deal I would not take it too lightly. Bone spurs are pretty common but if you are older and have any diabeties issues be very faithful about doing exactly what the doc says about after care. Foot infections can move very very quickly. Inspect your wound once even twice daily with full light and absolutely clean hands. Wear clean slippers or no binding shoes. I would add as a long time caregiver make sure you have properly fitting shoes. After fifty people usually gain a shoe size and wear shoes too small. Doctors, and even podiatrist, rarely check for proper fit or tell you to throw out bad shoes. If you have worn a shoe over a year it is a bad shoe. You rarely have to spend a lot to get a good walking shoe; your worth it. Go someplace where they actually measure your foot and fit the shoes even if you don't buy there. Don't try to add inserts not designed to go with the shoes you buy; they will cramp your feet or cut off circulation. Look for good walking shoes at a store and order on line once you know the style and size and save money. Some of the best technology in the world has been designed into military shoes and boots if you want to buy new surplus or are a vet or have a friend who can buy for you.

I saw the Otheopedic doctor today. I am having my hand wrist surgery next Tuesday, with a short overnight stay in the hospital. I will wear a special cast and not be able to use my arm for a few weeks and if this doesn't help, thier is another operation.
