I'm a malware averse computer user.
But I don't know the science.

a) Am I vulnerable to infecting my computer with malware simply by clicking on a Mail message to read it?
Or must an attachment be opened to open that vector?

b) Atop my screen it says I have a "Match" indicator.
I've clicked on it. But there seems to be only one person.
That's fine.
But if there's more than one, is there a way to find out who they are? To toggle between their profiles, etc.?

c) Is there malware risk in reading a profile?

You can only get friends here by checking profiles (no risk unless redirected by clicking on photos, or coloured/ underlined or highlighted items) then chatting. And real friends by questions then Skype for sound or vision (beware videos) to hear or see real persons. If ok, meet in a public place like a gallery, museum or restaurant (rest or rant, lol) then it's up to you to judge.
Make sure photos and other attachments are not automatically activated. They may be malware.
Also, if someone will not answer simple polite questions, or tries to change site when there is no problem with the site you are on, or does not give details about themselves then they may be a scammer or dangerous. If they ask for goods, 'special' photos, or money, try to get their details then report them as abusive then block them. You may also copy or photo their text, or report them on fb, Twitter or other places but do not accuse without proof.�
Also, back up important files or pictures, especially before updating programs.

Hi, LTme. We put our advertisements through a heavy screening process (not to mention most are supplied by Google) and we do not allow html in profiles or emails, so you're safe on Mingle2.

As for knowing who is interested in you, you either have to also choose "yes" or "maybe" to that person while going through Mutual Matches or you have to upgrade.

Then I'm puzzled by the dozen mingle2 e-mails I've gotten in my brief tenure here; most of which are from provocatively dressed, attractive women barely old enough to be my daughter.

I find it extremely unlikely I've suddenly become attractive enough for that.
Surely not in RL. So why here?

But they're doing it for a reason; and a date with me is quite likely NOT the reason.

If they're not doing it to date me, that means the reason is something else.
And I'd be ASTOUNDED if it isn't computer malware related.
If I'm right, there's a risk.
And if there's a risk, I'd like to know what that risk is; what in my behavior can trigger that risk, and MAINLY
how I can communicate by mingle2 e-mail safely, with those that may actually be suitable candidates.

b) I've copied the URL, and plan to check it out.

Their just scammers fishing for their next gullible victim...we all see it all the time....they write you asking you name and hinting to contact them ona offsite email....shortly after thay deactivate....
my theory is they do a mass send out....hook a handful of victims and then try to work on them in their offsite email....when those avenues are exhausted they reactivate and try again...

all so come up with sad storys for you to send them money
