Because romance and sex aren't stand alone unique experiences that can be encapsulated and cut off from affecting, or being affected by, everything else, solely enjoyed like drops of candy vitamins.

You open yourself up to something positive, something loving and sweet, you are opening yourself up just as wide to something painful and emotionally damaging.

My late wife and I had plenty of romance before our wedding, and we had plenty of sex after our wedding. So, what is your point?

STD, responsibility of children you can't handle, having dignity and wanting commitment instead of being a passing fancy are some reasons why people don't jump in the sack.
loving and plwasing moments?
sex doesn't necessarily guarantee that. people can love and not have sex. or have sex and not be loved.
the reality is there are many eho live for the moment and are so irresponsible in considering lasting consequences

Some people aren't ready for the emotional involvement, or maybe they're just not feeling the spark with someone. I don't think that it's much more complicated than that, although for sure some people have "principles" when it comes to sex and "romance", strange as that may sound.

We all have our own ideas about these things. It's a pet peeve of mine when people put themselves out on the dating scene and lead others on when they really aren't ready but do it for selfish reasons and don't really take the people's feelings that they're playing with into consideration.
