Topic: Hi everyone! | |

Looking for a little constructive criticism. I'm new here. I didn't post in my profile that I'm a former Marine. Does that sort of information tend to help or hinder? Also, I already know my pics absolutely SUCK!!!! One has a dead animal in it, the other looks like a mug-shot.

One has a dead animal in it, the other looks like a mug-shot. ok I didn't have to be told you were in the military since your profile, screams order... and well there is no way to soft soap this sorry I wish I could. Scrap it and start over... Begin as you will continue. Unless you have lived under a rock we all are bored and lonely sometimes... We also pretty much understand we don't want drama but guess what it happens in life. So deal with it. When I read your profile the message I am getting is angry my way or the highway...I would pass it by. You have every right to want each and everything in your profile and more. So soften it a bit and come back out walking a bit more softly... Kind of like hunting the buck if you came at him like a storm troopers you wouldn't have shot him... speaking pic's honestly you are using the best one... I For one only have one selfie on my profile I hate taking them. So I usually beg friends that have candid shots of me and post those.. Good luck out here and Welcome. Hang in there you will get it. |

Ok, going to take a little editorial license and lift/edit from what you have posted.
Hi, Divorced a year I am ready for dating a mature, independent, self-reliant adult like myself. A lady 35-45; +/-with in reason works for me. If you have kids in your home ok. I don't but would consider a family maybe one of my own in time is an option. I do have a home in the country, a truck, and while I am not wealthy I am not starving either. I am not a whiner or a bragger but I did served my country 28 years as a Marine and consider myself a professional. I am a skilled hunter, like fishing, going to the beach, and even going to the theater. Quiet dinners at home and a little friendly conversation on Mingle to find you seems good. I am looking for someone who wants what I offer. A stable, friendly maturity, who will help those who are peers, and respect you. If you want to talk I will do my part to hold up a conversation. I'm the man who will give the right woman the whole person I am and expect the same in return. I will finish with I like music so you could tell me your favorite 80's rock or country songs and I will tell you mine. Ken |

Hey Luke's own posts are the inspiration. Writing is easy if you have the core building blocks to build with.
You don't see me endorse many but this guy is a keeper so keep bumping his treads and lets make Mingleland rock! |

SitkaRains, don't hold back. Upon re-reading my profile I see your point. It reads like I'm yelling at one of my troops. I joined the Marines in '86, and have pretty much been involved in shooting wars since 1988. I'm carrying around so much scrap metal I practically rattle when I walk and can't pass through a metal detector naked. Loving tenderness isn't exactly my strong point, but I'm working on it! Thank you very much for your critique! I look forward to seeing you around on the message boards.

PacificStar, permission to cut and paste ma'am?!? That is absolutely fantastic! Hell, I almost want to date myself reading that! Thank you VERY much for your help and kind words. You turned my "five paragraph order" (Google it) into poetry. I cannot thank you enough.

TMommy, that particular deer turned out to be a 9-point. Had a broken off tine. These ladies have indeed given me outstanding assistance, can't thank them enough. I practiced smiling in front of a mirror...best I could manage was a little smirk. Boot camp photo? Good idea. I haven't seen my boot-camp photo in 20 some-odd years, but I'll try to dig it up. If I can't find it, I know where one is. My mother has it on her mantle still. Speaking of which, to make matters worse...I'm a 5th generation Marine. It's pretty much instilled and it will take a bit to beat me into civility. I'm afraid I'm borderline feral. I am mostly housebroke, though.

I am glad you took it with agrain of salt my first husband was a hard core military man and y'll have a bark that is so much worse than your bites.. Deep down I think you could big a big teddy bear with a BS meter that works well.. I am a hunter so therefore I think hunting pictures are great and the ones that gripe about it are the ones you don't want to waste time on.. Looking forward to seeing you on the boards... Feel free to drop into my inbox anytime with questions Again thank you for taking the advice like I meant it.. |

Tmommy: You are most welcome of my service, as well,I'm sure, as those who served with me. I appreciate that very much. If I had it to do over again I wouldn't change a thing, except maybe a few times I'd duck faster! lol
SitkaRains, I can only hope. 28 years a Marine? LOL, lot's for a woman to work on, to say the least! |

(Google it) LOL Hey I may be an Army wife, Navy Mom, but my best bro in the world is a Viet Era Marine that stepped up as extended family and gave my teens the Uncle LeRoy they sorely needed and if I was a betting woman I will end up a Marine wife again someday. You know any good ones that era put a bug in their ear to look my way. |

Constructive? You just killed a deer. That's like running someone over and asking how well you drive.

Constructive? You just killed a deer. That's like running someone over and asking how well you drive. Oh give me a break. Sorry that big buck was by no means and innocent victim. It takes skill to hunt and if mature animals in deer herds are not taken the entire herd will over foreage and end up dying off from disease and over population. Then the wet nosed whiney homeowners will be crying how their garbage cans, shrubs, and gardens are being raided. The people who drive like idiots and kill deer by dui now then you might have a comparison. |
