I was a bouncer at one of his concerts ,he came out early and we got a chance to meet him and he was just a great guy so down to earth and friendly.

I've always heard that about the guy - and I was *seriously* bummed to hear of his cancer, he pretty much provided the soundtrack to my younger years. And yeah, I've remembered his birthday when it's come around since he passed on. drinker

Had the good fortune to see Dio at the Greek Theater in 2004. He must have been very sick at the time but you NEVER would have known it by the way he just blew the place down...it was amazing!!!!!!What a loss it was to the hard rock world when he left us much too soon RIP RJD

I had the pleasure to see DIO in 2003 in ISTANBUL,amazing band
Was supposed to see him in 2010 in june at sonisphere festival, but he died a few days before that
I think what he did in RAINBOW is genius, especially gates of babylon

As for his solo material,my fav.is rainbow in the dark

*bumping my Dio thread :bangbang:
8 years ago today the metal god, Ronnie James Dio, went to be on that Silver Mountain ⛰
He died from stomach cancer at the age of 68 tears

Truly one of the greatest voices of metal. :metal::metal:

Does anyone here have any stories about going to any of his concerts or meeting him in person?
I never had the chance to go see him in concert...one of my biggest regrets in life...! :slight_frown:
ROCK IN PEACE, Ronnie :bangbang:
