You are certainly entitled. I live to close to it, I feel sad & fearful for the future (here) & as said in the Baltimore Sun, more & more residents are fearful of a "police state" that, that is what the police always wanted... which I don't believe. But I do believe, blaming the police ( in miss directed anger), will only INCREASE tensions & more outbursts & mayhem. |

The Maryland Public Defender Office is arguing in Court that Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, exceeded her authority last month when she imposed a city wide curfew (10 pm- 5am) amid unrest (that followed the death of Freddie Gray). The Public Defender's Office says ONLY the Governor (Hogan) had that authority. Deputy Public Defender, Natalie Fineager said " the Mayor over stepped her bounds" The DOZENS who were arrested for curfews violations.... all charges have been DROPPED. City Prosecutors have decided " the arrest was punishment ENOUGH' It was the ACLU who asked the Mayor to lift the curfew (while defending a client / violator... of how many charges.. unknown) Businesses complained of sharp drops in revenue. And some people said the curfew was enforced disproportionately in majority black neighborhoods.
