I would argue that for that moment..whether it be a look across a crowded room, a week together on a tropical island, three years together until he went away to school or twenty years together til your 'I do's' became 'I don'ts' ...I would argue that it was always real

Don't waste your time looking for love. You won't find it or fall in to it. You make it (not referring to the horizontal , I know some talented folks can also vertically but you get my point).
Love is the ability to commit oneself to working for the good of the two as a unified entity. This is the root meaning of the "two become one" proverb. What you LOOK FOR is a person having no personality traits or character flaws you cannot live with, and has an equal ability to apply themselves to the relationship and your welfare. That's the true purpose of dating, determining reliability, not to be given an artificial picture of what everyday life will be like - restaurants, dancing, skydiving, concerts, non stop laughter - because it won't. In the end, in order to "love", you don't need anything in common but a shared willingness to engage in the business of life as partners. The movie crap is fantasy and results in millions of people being disappointed in their relationships. |
