I think this woman's pretty sharp. I don't see her (yet) as a Presidential possibility. I could certainly imagine a spot on the ticket as the VP nominee.

She's already shown that she can competently handle a role as co-CEO (I'm a little loaded on meds but she shared the top spot @ Hewlett-Packard if I remember correctly) and effectively, at that.

She's got a good head for business and we - as in the U.S. - need a business person in the Executive Branch. I don't have a clue what she's got to offer with regards to foreign policy and that's both vitally important and traditionally, the VP's bailiwick. I don't think it's outside of her capability to learn though.

Nothing I've seen leads me to believe that she's Commander-in-Chief capable in terms of our military escapades. She's a consensus builder, though. That's a refreshing alternative to the 'my way or I'll veto' we've been forced to swallow thus far.

Four years as a VP would expose her to the things she's not rock-solid on yet. Give'er 8 years of practice and I'll volunteer to run her campaign for the top spot.

Interesting woman. The only person I'd like to see as VP more is Carson.

Her views on foreign policy is what I have to look into, that is a BIG concern of mine.
Apparently she was fired from a major corporation, I would like to know why? Although that probably would NOT sway me against her, consideing ALL the dirt, scandal , corruption that we knowing voted others in with.
Unfortunately, though BOTH the media & the public tend to STILL hold women to a higher standard than men. I don't.. I may say, "That's it? That's all you got ? "
But I think this will really hold her back. That and like you said "Commander & Cheif" image. And Americans obsession with "polical families" & " military experience"

She's impressive as a business woman, and also progressive as well as being elitist.

You don't get where she has gotten without playing someones game. There is history there and more than a few ghosts in her closet.

Another conservative elitist RINO. Hitlery in Repulsicon drag

She's made the covers of many magazines for a reason and not all good

I think it was Forbes or Fortune who did an expose' on her during her time at HP, and while they praised her for her successes they also exposed her for her faults and a few of those ghosts

We don't need another "Hero" or "Champion". We need someone who will honor their oath of office, defend rather than seek to destroy our Constitution and Bill of Rights, and actually serve the people for a change instead of self or party!

Hmmm, let see she helped John McCain's failed run for the POTUS campaign in 2008 as an 'advisor' - the one and only time she ran for a political seat was in California and was defeated by Barbara Boxer - she was named CEO of HP {one of the few women in America to head a fortune 500 company} 1999 - 2005; but was driven out by the board of directors and left with a rather blemished record of a 2002 highly misguided merger with Compaq that while showed a positive reflection on the surface the company was stumbling and had to lay off 30,000 workers **final straw for the board of directors and they booted her!

While Wikipedia doesn't mention it she's had one {if not her only child} die from drugs and wrote about it in her book - odd how it's not even a mention on her Wikipedia page! She's a cancer survivor, she's well traveled - can easily manage public speaking and seems to find the media a necessary evil.

But is she what 'WE NEED FOR AMERICA' --- can't say; don't know what she thinks about the issues!

Not that that is ever a 'written in stone - iron clad' guarantee that they don't change their ideologies...she wouldn't be the worst - and she might not be the best! WHO KNOWS?

Well, the kid thing. Tragic as it must of been. I really don't need . Look what the media did to ' Sarah Palin'... all the crap about her family.
Let's face it, they do NOT do that to men. Personaly I could care less who sleeps with who (unless it was a minor) & I don't need to hear about anyone's (public figures) kids.
Look at the news- If it is about a woman, the first thing we hear is about her man & how many kids she has.
* Grandmother of 5 arrested in drug bust *... Aaacchhhh.... Who cares?
* Women are still viewed by family identify instead of their 'works'*
A criminal is a criminal & a politician is a politician.

Most people in prison are innocent and politicians are just like you and me...... just ask them.

And while your at it, ask your congressman/woman if you can "stop by" when your in the neighborhood. bigsmile

I posted on the other thread; where Carly had stated..."that we need to get away from those 'Professional Politicians' and return to the way it was back when our first political people were elected"---she may be SPOT ON and why we either have always leaned towards a 'WAR HERO' or a man with a law degree!

Look where that's taken our nation in it's short history! Just say'n, seems that we could modify our selection process and we'd still be ahead of the GAME!

Actually, it worked rather well til the "career politician" came into play. We need term limits and a balanced budget amendment. We need serious controls on how money gets to and controls politics.

I don't think Americans want a "Career Politicians" any more & are sick in the stomach over " The Political Families".

I read in the 70's (had to be psychology or sociology class), that most people actually pick a father or husband figure. * But people still loved Sigmund Freud, back then noway *
Now..I don't want to believe that. But it would explain why I'm always surprised and saying
"How the hell did this guy get in?!"
Maybe, most people WANT to be lead. Maybe most people, want to hear " it will be okay, it is for your own good, I got this..."
If I hear anything even remotely like that from man or woman... my alarms are going off. laugh

Well, about that 'Sigmund Freud' thingy; actually we were just learning what a huge pervert/druggy he was and how he manipulated so many of his 'THEORIES'...so the text book case was just how HE WANTED THE RESULTS TO BE! So it did 'ROCK' our little trusting world of things we'd been fed; things that were shoved down our throats in high schools as 'FACT' were only uncovered lies and utter BS in college---SMH...soooo disillusioned!

But I can well recall how angry the staunch Democrats and the Republicans were that we {the 18yr olds} wanted our Right To Vote; my parents thought I'd grown an extra head when I told them I was going to attend a rally and planned on marching on our Capital of Topeka! Between the ending the Viet Nam war and wanting the right to vote those - 2 big issues were worth fighting for in my early teenage years; oddly I don't recall having father envy issues on either of those...actually it was quite the reverse! LOL

I'm going to put her in the same category as Condi Rice. The woman has brain cells to spare, and doesn't seem to take anyone's crap.

That being said, she seems uncomfortable with the notion of having to repeatedly explain herself, which is one of those things politicians have to do. Like most of us, no one wants to take the time to justify why they feel the way they do on issues. We feel comfortable in our knowledge of the issue, and you should just take it on faith that we're right.(lol)

I think she'll be caught more than once rolling her eyes on camera when she hears what she considers to be the same stupid question for the 50th time. She rightly points out that if she goes up against Hilary, the whole 'Republican war against women' strategy is dead in the water for the Dems.

Her weakness is likely her departure from HP, and the job losses attached to it. If she can clearly provide the corporate justifications for doing so, she neutralizes that a bit. Of course, she can also speak to how the White House with Hilary as a regular visitor engaged in poor decisions that also cost American jobs, and that it still underpays the women working in it.

I think her campaign would basically be summed up as "America is great. We should be sick of taking crap from other countries. I can make America great again, get people working again, and I have no doubt that if someone tries to push us in the corner, I can order the military to kick their a**es."

I'm unfamiliar with the name.

What is her history?

She was in charge of HP and other large businesses in California for many years. She ran in the last US Senate election in California and lost.

She is a good person, has a good platform for the most part but she is not Presidential material. Hell, she wasn't even a good CEO, HP tanked under her watch and she was forced out.
