In addition to that strong willed mom, there was another man on Baltimore's streets last night.... "" "" While covering the riots in Baltimore, CNN's Joe Johns caught up with a man securing his neighborhood from agitators. The man, a Vietnam War vet, said the young rioters need to "have their butts home" and be "studying." The man, identified as Robert Valentine, is black but said he does not consider himself "black, white, red, yellow, or nothing," but an American. "I did 30 years, okay, came out a Master Sergeant," Valentine told CNN's Joe Johns. "I've seen more than all this. I've been through the riots already. This right here is not relevant. She didn't want her kid to be a thug! Good grief! I side with the mom that was there versus someone not even in this country. Someone posted another article where a vet said they need to get their butts home. Would you want to raise your kids there with riots? I bet many who are actually don't either nobody knows what they would do if they were put in a situation where their colour was prominent in a situation, and nobody knows what they would do if they were in the shoes of somebody going through a death of a son or daughter because of police brutality. everyone can have an opinion but you just don't know what you wold do if you were on the other end of it. I know I wouldn't let my kid riot and be a thug. I know I would be pissed at thugs looting and destroying my community. I know I would be pissed if my loved ones were put in danger because of it. I would be in gear and anger. Does that mean I should riot the rioters?

I bet many who are actually don't either nobody knows what they would do if they were put in a situation where their colour was prominent in a situation, and nobody knows what they would do if they were in the shoes of somebody going through a death of a son or daughter because of police brutality. everyone can have an opinion but you just don't know what you wold do if you were on the other end of it. Does that mean I should riot the rioters? no it means that people need to start questioning why they felt the need to do it in the first place and then change needs to happen before more people get hurt or killed. with every war there has to be a voice of reason somewhere.

My step dad is a retired Ft Worth cop and a damn good and by the book man there are plenty of good coppers out there loads of them but there are also loads of bad ones that feel they can do what they like hurting anyone they please. its these bad ones that shouldn't be coppers. being someone in service means your there to protect and serve, and that is what they should do. and when I say protect I mean everyone, until they actually do something for them to be on the other side of that.

everyone can have an opinion but you just don't know what you wold do if you were on the other end of it. I do know what I would do. I would protest peacefully, not cover my face and engage in criminal activity.

I have never put my hands on anyone in anger. I hold my beliefs very close to me and raosed my son to do the same and stand up for what is right. What these thugs did was WRONG! The mom stood up for what is RIGHT!
