Hello fellow fitness addicts,

I'm currently getting in shape for the upcoming summer and work out 5 days per week. As hard as working out is, I think finding the motivation to get up and go to that gym or park is the hardest part.

I often wake up at 5 am for a workout and what often motivates me are quotes and photos posted on a site called "theberry" that I go to. A lot of the pictures are from actual members and others are just found on the net. I usually browse through their daily motivation section while having a pre workout snack.

So it would be nice to have something like that here to keep up motivated. You can post your own pictures in workout gear, at the gym, while on a run, etc... Or you can post interesting photos found on the net. Same for quotes.

I'm sure there are some of you here who need some motivation like I do once in a while...

So let's start with the motivational pictures/quotes.

Hi Pansytilly & Mikey,

I'm just coming back from a short 3k run. According to the mapmyrun app I burned only 206 calories but with the cold and wind that's outside, I had to struggle sooo much with each stride... I'm pretty sure I burned more lol

I'm Glad this thread is motivating you guys. I guess we can be a support group to each other. I'll try my best to post motivational pics/quotes and workout updates daily here. You guys do that too flowerforyou

Lol, if only this thread has an alarm function...

I use the noom app. It has noom run and heart rate as well, and keeps track of diet pretty good

Haha it doesn't have an alarm function but the motivation it brings will do the same thing. Make you get up and go kick some butt.
Mapmyrun has all of those features you mentioned and then some... but your app seems to have it all too. So it doesn't matter. The important thing is to get out there and reach optimal health and fitness.

My 'alternative' daily workout sessions:

1) Skip
2) Running
3) Cycling

My heart 'skips' a beat when the alarm clock rings in the morning. Then I ensure I 'skip' a heavy breakfast, and just have cereals and coffee. I have to 'run' to ensure I keep up with the schedules of the day. Pounding on the keyboard as I do my data entry, instead pounding the road jogging. And the only 'cycling' I do, is re-cycling the printing paper by turning it to the unprinted sides. As my work requires me to sit at the computer all day, otherwise it would be considered an 'unproductive' day. So, there goes my usual daily routine!!! LOL laugh

But I do go jungle trekking once or twice a month, and whenever I visit the temple site, I make sure I walk up the hill rather than drive. Walking the dog would be the only daily exercise I do nowadays, though, I used to jog or swim for an hour or so. Recently I joined a parade, and we walked 10km for 4 hours, and though I ached all over...... I think I must have been fit enough!

Hi Amelinng- I think it's awesome that you still try find ways to stay active. Office jobs are the worst thing when it comes to staying active. I've always worked in the downtown area where I spend 8 hours a day behind a computer and where within the very office building that I work in, there must have been about 8 different restaurants, and HUNDREDS others within walking distance. I had to make a conscious effort to avoid eating resto food every day and get out there to stay healthy and fit.
I think you're doing the same thing by leaving your car and walking uphill when you visit the temple site.

Not everyone can walk 10K- Congratulations! Even when it aches all over and you feel like you're going to DIE while doing it, the rush you get after is undescribable.

Here's to getting motivation to get out there whenever you can. drinker (pretend those are two glasses of water lol)

Happy Sunday workout to you

Today I choose life. Every morning when I wake up I can choose joy, happiness, negativity, pain... To feel the freedom that comes from being able to continue to make mistakes and choices - today I choose to feel life, not to deny my humanity but embrace it.

Good morning all!

It's almost 5:30 and I will be heading to the gym in about 20 minutes. Here's some motivation for those of you who would be doing the same this MONDAY morning.
