Do you ever think or say that to yourself? If I had not married my ex, I would not have known the pain of that love ending. I may not have developed Fibromyalgia until much later in my life. But, I would not have met the man who started my interest in skydiving. I would never have know the wild joy of leaving everything, and I mean everything, behind as I launched myself out of an airplane door. The rush of cold, crisp, painfully clean air rushing into my lungs. The amazingly crisp view of clouds rushing by. The exhilaration of seeing and flying to another skydiver, joining together in our mad rush towards earth. The air pushing against me, loud, filling my ears, no thoughts except those involving that very moment. There are no bills, no obligations, no connections. It feels like a first kiss, like a near miss car accident, like Christmas and birthdays and New Years all wrapped together. Total freedom from all but gravity. Then, parachute opening, silence... except for the sound of a light breeze across fabric and lines. And the view, God our earth is beautiful! The power in turning the canopy, diving towards the ground. The joy in the knowledge, in the skills I have mastered, to be able to leave a plane 14,000 feet up, sometimes miles from the airport, and return safely to land within a 30 meter circle. And the incredible feeling of sharing this addiction with my fellow skydivers. Never wish I never... 300+ jumps and counting....biggrin

That was a delightful narrative. Too cool.

To answer the question, the only 'Wish I'd never...' I've ever had ended with '...waited to do this.'

If we're being honest: yes, many regrets.

Is there anything you took with you from your bad experiences? How about "I'll never do THAT again?"

I don't know that I think in those terms. If I have regrets, I'm glad to be done and to have gotten through the experience.
