Topic: If plastic surgery was free | |

Would you get it? How about botox? Why or why would you not get plastic surgery?

I think I would probably do a boob lift,
maybe a small tummy tuck.. that would be it.. Nothing else.. other than that I think I am aging well |
|

I think a lot of people would do a lot of stuff. And doctors would be lining the street to do it. But in looking at some of the Hollywood type plastic surgery horror photos.. I would think there would be a lot more scary looking people walking around.
Have you seen a recent photo of Mickey Rourke.. or Carrot top?.. and that's at their best!!! |

If a surgery is free I still won't take for it. This is me.... how God created me.

Nothing. Every line, wrinkle and scar was earned.

I wonder why they think their lips are sexy? It would be like kissing a blowfish. |

I would not because at 52 I want someone to love me for who I am not what I look like.I eat right, exercise daily, and stay healthy but really if someone does not want the real me flaws and all I would rather stay alone.

I don't think the OP was talking about massive surgery. At 55 would I want to enhance my looks a bit better sure I would.. My guy adores me just the was I am. I wouldn't even entertain doing something for someone else. It would have to be for me and only me. |

I know a few who need it... Burn and trauma victims, post cancer surgery patients, kids with cleft lips, ...free plastic surgery ought to be made globally available and accessible to them...

Eww, scary. I wonder why they think their lips are sexy? It would be like kissing a blowfish. Oh no. I've got to clean the screen and keyboard AGAIN! Y'all keep making me laugh and your timing is impeccable - it always happens when I've just taken a drink. RE: The topic. I do have something cosmetic I'd dearly love to correct and won't likely be able to afford, anymore. Mostly, I've learned that that's just the way it is and deal with it as best I'm able. But, now and then, it comes back to haunt me. There was a post put up in the last day or so that made me think, 'Damn. I guess I'm right to be self-conscious about this.' Insecurity is so sneaky. |

There are a lot of great points here, especially those in favor of their natural self. I also want to add just because something is free doesn't mean we should take advantage of it.
It's a hard concept, especially for us Americans but in all seriousness any surgery is a big deal and could have huge repercussions health wise. Think again :). |

Would you get it? How about botox? Why or why would you not get plastic surgery? Well....I wouldn't go all out like Michael Jackson did, but eh....I'd have a few minor alterations done to myself. |

Growing up I was self-conscious about my nose. I always wondered why everyone in my family had such nice noses but not me. As I grew up, I learned to accept myself and honestly wouldn't want it any other way. Anyone before considering plastic surgery should consider ensure it really isn't a self esteem/self-conscious issue. If not, and it's something that you just want to do for yourself, then go all out.
Like Pansytilly said, there are people out there who NEED it after certain surgeries due to illnesses, like cancer, after an losing an extreme amount of weight, etc... But at this point if I try to surgically enhance any part of me, it would be out of pure vanity. So no free plastic surgery for me. |
